Infect yourself with some worms! They'll calm down your histamine-producers!
Basically, we grew up with worms- as the constant battle/tug of war between our own immune system and the worms raged on, each side continually tried to counter the other, with our body getting more aggressive forms of finding and smiting the parasites and the parasites going "hey man, just calm down man, I'm just gonna eat your blood and lay eggs inside your body man, nothing bad, just play it cool." So, now that we've gotten rid of these nasty critters, our immune system is still coasting on the anti-parasite roid rage that would normally be countered by the secretions of the worms- the result is an increase in allergies.

Also: I'd highly discourage donating your body to medicine/science. Organ donor's great, but you don't want to know what they do with the cadavers of the poor sods who generously gave their bodies away.

i don't care what they do

I want science

Yeah... mostly a choice between worms getting it or it maybe being something more useful to our species than a spat of fertilizer. Probably end up as the latter anyway, but might as well get something good out of it before it turns back inta worm shit.

Do need to look in to what lets you throw the whole shebang at 'em, though. Organ donor's easy, but I'm not entirely sure about the procedure required to donate the whole corpse.

Not everyone can give organs, plus it also depends on how you die (except for kidneys and stuff).

Yar, they don't want your body if you've got ants. Or are fat.

Them med students can be...you know what frathouses are? Yeah...they're going to do things with your remains. Things worse than being a halloween prop.

Aaaand there's not much use besides that, really. Decreases funeral costs. Cremation ftw.

Also, fun fact on organ donation: when you die, they get in yo body and get yo organs asap- heard lousy anecdotes about grieving family members and organ-thirsty collectors. That said, do it if you can.

Also fun fact: didn't expect everyone to ignore the allergy-worm relationship with such nonchalance.

Yeah, that's kinda required. Organs start dying really quickly once the body does, and dead organs are no use to anyone.

Yes..I wasn't contesting that.
I mention it because there was once a time when hearing they get rough with your relatives was new, interesting information to me.

What made me sad today:

Maybe he's just trying to share stuff he finds cool, and you, you cruel cruel man, are dashing his hopes of father-son bonding upon rocks of non-plussitude.

-Try finding your own 'Good' documentaries and sending them his way- maybe he'll learn the difference on his own?
Funnily enough a friend of the family linking him to a site that indexes documentaries that lead to all this. He didn't expect the only section of the site to get any attention would be "mysteries". He gets to talk with him about this stuff more than anyone else and gets a similar response as me.

I am a little worried at how it seems to be coming between us, but it's all he wants to talk about and I can't lie every time I see him and fake interest. I was into this kind of stuff years ago, started looking things up for myself, and grew disheartened and sick of it. I don't really want to encourage conversations about it.

Direct him to something like penn&teller? Daily show? Lessons on scientific method, political science, good political intrigue books? :|good luck. So long as you set the topic, you're picking what you're encouraging.
I'd just try to change the subject whenever it came up, avoid it by pre-empting the conversation topic, or hey; just give a disclaimer whenever he brings it up, "yo, dad, I love you, (sylvester stallone) but if you talk to me about these documentaries I'm not going to pull punches. I want you to know that going in, so expect it and don't get too mad okay?" Jokes & delivery, subtlety & tact, you know, that garbage humans rely on for personal communication- I find it's just about phrasing it the right way. Shoot, explaining what you just explained to me, (in a non-threatening environment, so alone and without pressure/cornering etc), might very well be the key for you, (or could spell disaster).
I've gotta add a disclaimer to my sig.

A fourth and probably final opportunity to complete what I have now dubbed the Nightmare Project has inexplicably slipped through my fingers. I'm not even angry this time, it's just baffling.

Cadaver donation: eh, I'll just try to get myself cloned and have that body harvested instead. Yes that is horrible.

SCIENCE!

I'd encourage it to improve the understanding of the living so that they can avoid the physiological mistakes of the dead.

I wonder how many people have written in their wills that they want their bodies donated to the Mythbusters.  Not science, the Mythbusters.

If anybody is going to spend money on giving me a final sendoff, I want either explosives, rockets, or sharks involved, and the only ones I know of capable of all three are the Mythbusters.

I wonder about whether that's actually legal.
