Once again, banality of evil... Not that these kids don't deserve some very, very serious punishment, but their actions aren't that hard to understand.

Mind you the punishment should be weighted with the action not the result.

That is at least how I feel, I am sure others feel otherwise.

I sure as hell don't understand their actions.

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

I sure as hell don't understand their actions.

Truthfully I cannot come to anything more then speculations without knowing all the details.

For example if this happened at my elementary or high school this wouldn't have went by quietly and likely the girl would have instantly been sent to a counciler and a bunch of nice people with a helping hand (don't get me wrong this isn't a perfect school... but something this big would get this attention. Someone falling off their car and hit their head got school wide attention)

There is soo much about this situation I want to know but this is so sparse it is almost useless to gather any oppinions or facts from. It feels more like a natural disaster then a human event.

Continuing saga of Vector's undesirable "love life:" well, I sent him a message about the trip this Saturday which I know he read, but he's said nothing (it's been about 12 hours since he saw it.  Whooo Facebook.).  I get the feeling that he's skipping out.  Passively.  Which kind of sucks both on the romantic and friendly fronts.

*shrug*

Another one bites the dust.  That's all right.  I'm going to go up and fly paper airplanes on my own, anyway, because I actually really want to make this trip.  So, I still have it to look forward to!  I'll get myself a pineapple red bean bun, bring the camera, and take some great early-morning photos of orange and magenta airplanes against the sky.

Same as posted above, the 17 year old girl case. I can understand HOW the kids acted, but I cannot justify it in any way possible. I read a lot about it, and now I'm very upset/sad/angry. Just... how... why... we should be better than that.

Who in the hell passes up on an opportunity to do something as cool as this with anyone? Damn.

Possibly men who drowned their inner child in the baptismal font ;_;

If had actually made it back to berkeley, I'd totally have flown paper airplanes with you (Though my planes tend to be... odd)

I have to finish this stupid report on the year's activities, which involves quite a bit of creativity by my part, because there is scant info on what abilities I'm supposed to have acquired, and I'm not totally profficient on which ones I have actually acquired, either...

Funky paper airplanes are fine!

What can I say... I'm kind of frustrated.  I've been looking forward to it for quite a while now, and it seems that it's in vogue to no longer say "sorry, I can't come" but rather just not reply.

I miss my mom.
Ever since she turned herself for witness protection concerning that dreaded event last year, I haven't been able to see her since. She left around December 2012. Now, it's now 1/4 of 2013, and I still haven't been able to see her. The one responsible for all this was a relative of one of the Malaysian government peoples, and he was (un)fortunately apprehended there. Our f**king government decided they wanted the Malaysians to handle the situation first, and decided to wait instead of enforcing their claim on that f**ker. It was either the perpetrator shows up, or my mom waited until all the cases against the company (and in effect, also her) would be finished and she won all of those.

So, I guess I have to go through the slow path and wait for approximately 2 years. It could be even more, depending on what outlandish accusation the muslim mob has to claim.

This... Just this

Sounds like government is failing people all over the place.

Both of these stories make me feel terrible, and angry... but New Guy, I hope you get some justice for your family soon. When it's over, your mom will have a hell of a story to tell. Until then, I hope you can find peace with your Dad; he's no doubt as anxious and scared for her as you are, so that's probably just feeding the tension. Hang in there.
