Got sick with a headache and sinus pain.
Laid down to try and feel better.
Slept for over 4 hours.
Was late to the weekly D&D game because of it.
An hour later, the fiance now has the same sickness.

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

My boyfriend showed me a website he used to use for hookups... and a great deal of the men on there report as being HIV positive.  In fact, he remembers occasions where previous HIV negative people eventually reported as positive after a few months.  It's still a sad world out there :/

Uh....I hope it goes without saying that you should probably get him (or perhaps both of you) tested.

They have over-the-counter HIV tests now, so it shouldn't be hard.

I played Aurora, i was happy.
I looked at the menus, my world shattered. So... many... menus.

Why would the menu system in Aurora upset a DF player?

Probably 'cause Aurora kicks it up a notch. Bam, right to the UI aesthetics.

I didn't find it nearly as engaging. DF just has that...something. It makes emotional connections that Aurora can't.

I was talking about the UI and the micromanagment. I'm still trying to figure out what everything does, then how to use it.

It has procedurally generated city-demolishing riots that can spark from the mere death of a kitten.  Sociological domino effects and emotional rollercoasters that unfold unpredictably before your eyes.

The last official Rock Band song is coming out next week, signaling the final death knell of the non-motion-sensing rhythm game genre in North America.

Perfect song, though.

* 3rd office appointment missed with not so much as a phone call or answering my phone call asking about you....
* Phone calls not answered or returned, even when voicemails left....
* Final Pretrial in a matter of days....

They will set it for a bench trial within a month....

"Help me; help you. Help me; help you...."

I could've done prep work months in advance, now ... hell.... I'm gonna flat out tell this person; they will be lucky if I can keep them out of jail. I mean, come on, it isn't like I can pull this out of my butt.

Tragically, this is not uncommon. Showing up: you have to do this if you want a chance....

So here we are on appointment number 4 right before the trial and I'm driving out to a fast food joint near her (which I offered to do before ...), because making myself available on a Sunday night apparently isn't good enough? Frankly, I don't like waltzing into court to get kicked in the teeth.
