So my Dad decided to "encourage" me to get a girlfriend last night. Thanks, Dad. Thanks for telling me that I should be dating someone already, that I should have asked out that one girl, even though I don't like her. Thanks for saying that this is pretty much my one opportunity to date for the next three years, because I'll be too busy otherwise. Thanks for pointing out that a life of eternal bachelorhood is rushing up to meet me. Thanks for not listening to me when I say that I AM DOING MY BEST TO FIND A GIRLFRIEND. Thanks for making me feel like shit into the next day. It's not like this is kinda the thing that I've been bitching to myself about for like forever, or that being single forever one of my biggest fears, or anything.

>_<

Days like this, I just want to play fuck-tons of video games.

That's bizarre, I've never heard of a guy getting this treatment from their dad.  You may want to remind him that you're not his daughter and it's also not the 50s.  Do they really want grandkids or something?  Don't let their desperation rub off on you, in any case -- it won't help.

It's to be expected, I guess. His dating history is basically the entire East Coast before he settled down and married. Mine is a single person that I barely got to see, and then a dozen failed first dates. His reaction to my sisters dating someone is a lot more reasonable--"That boy's no good, you should dump him."

Anyways, yes, desperation is bad. I really just need to take a few hours to myself today and do something until I don't care so much about yesterday.

I didn't date til I was about 16 or so, and my Dad ended up being worried (though he never directly shared these fears with me) that I was gay.

Even now, he has his doubts.

My dating history is nearly non-existant. Even though I do not count among obese, 13 year old geek hidding in the dark basement and, at least from my point of view, I am not really un-attractive and over "legal" age already.
And I do not really feel any need for dating.
But this is due to what kind of person I have become over years.

Watching some music video on youtube, a nostalgia grabbed me. Video contained some old footage of life from, I'm guessing, 60 to 70, maybe later.
A thought how life was not necessarilly easy but still more straight forward, simple, less pretentious and more whole sprung in my mind.
And how everything passes over time.
Every day, week, year, you can turn back and think what was it like back then.
As I finish writting this, so does the Emperror's With Strenght I burn song, with the last words "Even though I nothing learned with strenght I burn!"

Huh.

edit:
60's and 70's of course

Yes, I should probably get some sleep.
Second paragraph is unrelated to the first, that should be mentioned.
As for "Huh" it was one of those strange moments where you feel some lyrics fit exactly into your current state of mind, and I got that feeling. And I did not refer to Emperor with that music video mentioned at the beginning.
And it was the nostalgia that made me a bit sad. I am better now, thanks.

I do not understand the math we are learning.
I do not have enough time to finish my Video 1 Project.
I do not have enough material to finish my Special Effects Project.
I do not have anything to do.
I continue to get on my Windows XP.
My radio system has a bit of crackling on the speakers.
I have a radio show coming up soon and I'm not sure what to do.
We have zero time to familiarize ourselves with the radio station.
I spend money too much.
I have little friends and am loosing some.
I still have no skills.
I still have no girl friend.
I still haven't told the girl I'm madly in love with how I feel about her.
No one cares.

You can add I AM WRONG to that list too my friend!

Because we do care.

And plus, you do have things to do! You have work to do on math, film, video 1, and special effects!

I'm immune to the box.
I am the rat.
I walk through the door.
Press the button a couple times.
Leave.
Circle the box for days.
Repeat.

I base my life around video games.
A thing I cannot bring my self to enjoy.
The skinner box techniques do not work on me.
I am Immune to what I live for.

Well if you tell us you've already admitted defeat, how can we help? Now if you want to change those things, come ask us. If you want help getting off the drug-like addiction of video games, we can help. If you want to look and feel better, I have a thread for that. If you want to complain, I'll listen, unless it's defeatism, and others probably will too if it's constructive. (Always on AIM)

Today, I was getting into that 'I'm all alone' depressive state of mind, although that cycle wore off by the end of the 12 hour shift. These mega-days of work seem to have something like the five stages of grieving, but instead it's happiness, nostalgia, depressing, deep intrinsic thought, then happiness it's time to go home. Today's deepest thought was 'Do gay drug mules enjoy their work?'

Juxtaposed by the happiness of the day, I found the steam room and spa feels absolutely amazing after work, and that will now be my daily work schedule routine. That and my theory turned out great, the steam room and shower cleared about half of my nose blackheads in one sitting, so not drinking caffeine and using the steam room may keep me looking even more handsome than usual.

I never admitted defeat.
If I did, I'd be dead wouldn't I?

I don't need help.
I just need a skill and something to do.
