New Life Goal 34#: Invent Vat Meat. Demand reward money from PETA. Go to rainforest. With money, establish logging company. If company fails, simply purchase many flamethrowers.

Guess he wants to speed up the destruction of biodiversity and some of the most important CO2 recycling plants? :P

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

3d printers that print vat meat. Print me a steak. Get one that prints other tissue as well like bone, tendons, organs etc so you can have a more realistic t-bone or printed buffalo wings. Then you get into the really screwed territory of people who print human corpses for halloween. Bring on the problems of the 22nd century!

Fine. Amending.

Bask in Delicious Irony. Utilize incredibly thick supply of Irony to finally prove both the definition of Irony, and speed Politicial Discourse to a lightening pitch. Harness Politicians to invent FTL travel. Discover aliens. Wait for Space-PETA. Wash, Rinse, Repeat.
I'm feeling very silly right now, as may be obvious.

Yeah. I knew you were joking. It just seemed kinda like stabbing yourself in the face and saying "Look at that PETA, how's THAT for animal cruelty?"

Well,  It makes sense though. I won't be worried about the enviroment on earth, I'll be too busy eating space puppies and scooting around on my bigman spaceship waiting around to Troll space PETA!

Besides, I was refering to all the displaced animals. All them animals. Into the sea with you!

Candiru.

Seriously though, and I've probably got no place to be saying it considering the last posts I've made in here, we should probably take rainforest shenanigans elsewhere. Sad thread's getting IRC derailed, methinks.

Yeah, tissue culture'd be good, too. I was thinking along the lines of textured/flavored soy or some such nonsense, but honestly, whatever works. Even if the suffering makes the meat more delicious (literally, no joke. Iirc, pain does something that... tenderizes? Think that was it.)

The opposite. When an animal (including humans) is in pain, it will secrete something that will pollute the muslces and make it less tasty and more strong. Most of that "bad meat" is dumped, or discounted. That's why in the old times, they tried to cut the throat of an animal, so that muscles were left in state.
It could be probably avoided if slaughterhouse were more efficient, but considering the huge production of meat animals, nearly nobody cares.
