Their colors litteraly mean

"I'M A DICK AND I'LL STAB YOU IF YOU COME CLOSE".
Explains a lot about why black-and-gold is a popular gang color motif.

Wasps are beautiful creatures. So vibrant and nicely coloured.
Wasps are dicks. Sure, I might be intruding on their territory, but at least I'm not poking them with tiny venom-filled syringes.
No, Humans prefer trapping them under a glass and then putting them in an Industrial dishwasher.

I once trapped one of those really small flies under my coca-cola bottle.
It was glorious.

We call them the New Orleans Saints around here. And they are known to put bounties on their rivals and break kneecaps for fun and profit.

:( I don't even.... Did anyone there read "The Ciderhouse Rules?" All for babies; but this one had no survival chance. At that point, there's no reason not to try to save mom when we know baby is as good as dead.

I apologize if this is a "hot button" issue but just wow.
I stand by my earlier statement.

For the record I generally speaking I try not to hold it against people. My general thinking is something along the lines of "It's not their fault they irritate the hell out of me." (Ok, so sometimes it really is, but a lot of the time I kind of feel it isn't) So I smile and speak no ill of them, while trying to get away from them.

From that article alone, one cannot be certain for what reason her treatment was prevented. Most of the health practitioners I personally know (my aunt is a nurse) would be hesitant to perform an abortion-type procedure on a woman with the symptoms described before making an attempt at stabilizing her, as it can be a dangerous procedure under such circumstances. Without more information, there is no way to claim that this was not a simple case of malpractice.

Man, I know little if anything about medicine or malpractice or whatever. Actually you can go ahead and say next to zero on those topics for what I know about that stuff. I have no idea and I guess it's always true that we weren't there/can't know what happened. If she really was told, "this is a catholic country," as the reason she didn't get an abortion to save her life, then that's bad. I mean at least it seems somewhat fishy from an outside looking in sorta thing. Again, I dunno.

It's really sad that two people died, especially IF one of those deaths could've been prevented. Could it have? I don't know.

I checked around a few different news sources. According to some, it seems that foetus was declared non-viable but since Irish abortion law says that abortion is never legal, the doctors were waiting until they lost the foetal heartbeat to do something (this is apparently standard practise). I think it was pretty clear well before the baby had died that this might kill her, and that they should have aborted, but they didn't.

As I said, ass backwards country. Because it's better to let a woman die painfully than dare to sin in the eyes of our Lord and saviour.

If that's the case, then that's quite ludicrous. My point was simply that the article linked wasn't enough to support that interpretation.

If different news sources use the same source, it might still be dubious. I think it's pretty bizarre, and wouldn't be surprised if there were actual medical reasons to delay a legrade, which the media is ignoring due to hype. But then again, worse things have happened in the past.
