Even if it was in both your names, AND they got a judgement explicitly allowing it from the court (ask them to send you a copy of the judgement that allowed them to take the money), there are still numerous rules regarding how they can do it and how much they can take which they very clearly did not follow, and legal action is almost guaranteed to get you the money back.

And as you said, they don't even have that. They robbed you. Talk to a lawyer and find the best way to sic the law on them.

My mother was on both accounts from when they were first created when we were teenagers, but that is no longer the case.

This would still only apply if it was your mothers debt, not your sisters. And even if it was your mothers, if her name was no longer on the account they would still need a court-ordered judgement giving them permission to take the money (which I doubt they have).

Maybe your local laws in this regard are fucked, but you really should talk to a lawyer about this.

Or it could be you did something legitimately worthy of pride and respect, rather than simply by comparison. Just sayin' :P

But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Getting deeply depressed. Fucking holidays ring nothing but hollow for me. I can't wait to get the hell out of here and move on with another attempt at having a real life instead of biding my fucking time for another year while shit develops.

You're awesome, MZ. Not just at facepunching. Don't forget that.

I do understand the "sick of just biding my time" thing. And the being unable to wait to get the fuck out of where you are. Sympathies :(

Yep, in the same boat pretty much.

Also, my hypomanic episode crashed thanks to a nasty bout of "I'm your leg, and I'm going to send searing pain through your body ALL NIGHT LONG" making me miss a night of sleep and completely throwing off all my momentum.

So it seems i'm utterly completely accident prone.
Two days ago, I ripped my thumb open on a staple.
Yesterday, I smashed my leg off a table, somehow.
That same night, I stepped on a nice, rusty, chicken poop encrusted screw.
And today, I decided to, using my right foot, jam my left big toe nail into my foot.
Oh, and i'm going hunting tomorrow!

Perhaps you'll shoot through a time portal and realize Dick Cheny was innocent after all.

What'd he do to make himself un-innocent?

What'd he do to make himself un-innocent?
When he shot another man in the face and claimed he thought he was a deer?

To be fair, Cheney is used to hunting the deadliest prey. It was an accident because Cheney thought the guy was a deer, and he would never waste ammunition on mere deer.
