Even worse, he was out with me and some other friends last night having a "guys night out" for the first time in months. So she died alone at home and he found her when he got home. Can't imagine what that must be like.

Also sad that I don't "feel" something more than resigned sadness. I just don't do grief, it seems.

I can understand that. Unless someone is a really deep part of my life, I usually just feel like (Well that sucks D=) when they die. And end up feeling like I'm a heartless robot.

Just woke up to a phone call that my closest friend's wife died last night. She was only 29, and they'd only been married a couple of years. Still in shock.    :-[
Oh, dude, what the fuck happened? *hugs and condolences*

Not sure yet. She had a lot of medical issues but nothing life-threatening that I know of. She had just recently started new medication for migraines...have to wait till the autopsy to find out. One of my ex-GFs' mom died kinda similar to that -- used to get wicked bad headaches and then one day...dead.

Eeeegh. I've always worried about that, myself, as a sufferer of migraines. Things like aneurysms are terrifying.

When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Well that's the thing. He's a serious bro. We've known each other for about 20 years, and I was friends with his wife too. He had been sort of in the "forever alone" category for...well, forever. And then he finally finds someone and they were absolutely, totally head over heels for each other. And then they only get a few years together.

I'm just sad for my friend now. Gonna be spending most of the weekend helping tend to him. My wife jumped into the role of "switchboard", making all the phone calls to let people know the news (even as she's having an emotional meltdown between calls). It SUCKS to be the harbinger of news like that.

Timing out of our mumble server. Not sure if it's down or what. I should probably check the thread...

I just got email that the body of a white male was found on my campus, id pending. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I hope my roommate is alright. He's a terrible person, but no one should have to die that early in life.

He's probably fine. There are lots of white males at the college, and the body hasn't even been declared a student or not yet. Still worried it could be someone I know, roommate or otherwise.
