Sleep paralysis isn't bad. At least it's not if you know that's what's happening.

I am so truly sad right now. A lot of people--honest, hardworking Chinese people--are losing their livelihoods and dreams as they are smashed by their own brothers and sisters on a witch hunt. Serious, true, tear-jerking sadness.

Gallery containing pictures of protest, as well as some of the faces and shops of people at the receiving end of a senseless public outpouring of rage.

Japan nationalising at least three islands of an uninhabited chain of islands claimed by both mainland China and Taiwan, and Japan.

Their ownership has been disputed between China and Japan for over 200 years, or so the local newspaper tells me.

What I don't get is why they're mentioning Japanese WW2 atrocities now of all times. Why not some time in the past ~60 years?
the only dumb question is the question never asked right?

Because of Japan nationalising three of the chain in, like, the last week.

I -just said that-.

Why is this such a big deal to your average Chinese person? Is it really riot worthy?

Why not some time in the past ~60 years?

They have... It's just more politically charged now.

Yeah, those islands nobody ever goes to are REALLY FUCKING IMPORTANT. :/

Also, I agree with Yoink. I just don't want to wake up most mornings. I'm tired of always being afraid of everything, and being tired all the time. I'm tired of being angry and confused and sad all the fucking time. I hate being lonely and being with someone makes me insane, and I hate being sober but I hate getting high.
I must have a lot of hate in me, looking back now. :/

Pretty sure the uproar is just nationalism.

The big hubub however is that there is apparently oil in the ocean near there. As soon as the Chinese government discovered this they decided to try to get them from Japan.

It also is a bit about larger context (eg. China trying to claim more land, China VS Japan with the land as the conflict).

There are a lot of families around Indo-China and China who were raised to hate the Japanese. As a consequence, a lot of families hate the Japanese. When given a reason to hate the Japanese, they will choose to hate the Japanese. Sucks how that mob behaviour works don't it?
