Hey, if I break my hand, maybe my family will actually sympathize with something.
Or maybe they'll just ostracize you for punching a solid immovable object, and your hand would be broken.
Or you punch the world so hard it moves solar system.
I recant--punch away. No but seriously, don't. You don't realize how important hands are until they're broken. Try reaching in your pocket to grab your wallet... Yeah. Didn't think about that one before it happened, didjya?

You could always get a punching bag. Speed bags and gloves are pretty cheap.

Feel like punching a wall. Or would, if I had the motivation to.
That's a good way to break your hand. Got pillows?

Don't punch things. I have a pinky knuckle that has been broken for over a year now because I foolish punched something.

My right hand little finger's knuckle's been pushed up by a good 2cm. Surprisingly it's a meh thing.

Probably should have punched like a man, Hans. Broken pinky knuckle from punching? Not something I'd be sharing on the Manliest Men Forum (formerly known as Bay12).

Funny ER tale: we had a case a couple of weeks ago listed on triage as "damage secondary to assault". It turned out the guy had a broken fifth metacarpian. Aka boxer's fracture. I guess someone hit him repeatedly in his fist with the face

Bad GMs who pull dick moves make me sad today. At least I don't have a overwhelming urge to correct them like I used to. Now-a-days I can just walk away.

I just do. Pain is all in your mind. :/ The only time it seriously hinders me is when I 'bump' it against things while doing heavy lifting. Seperation from heavy lifting + jostling from bumping = grinding bone ends, which is definitely NOT just in your mind.

Back when I was doing Karate, I used to strengthen my knuckles by punching a brick wall over and over. My knuckles are now larger than my father's. (He's 6'6", i'm 5'10")

Never broken a bone. Then again, it might have to do with age. IIRC, Hans, you're only a little bit older than I? (I'm 20.)

Yup. You just gotta know your limits and stop before you cause long term damage.

Oh, of course. I neither punch walls nor do karate anymore. I do have fairly extensive scarring on my knuckles though. (Redhead, so naturally frail skin.)

My knuckles suck for any high impacts but for other brute force i either use my palm thrust or a hammer blow.
