Ol' Tzu's babblings apply well enough to pretty close to everything. Strategy is strategy, generally regardless of the scenario it's being applied to. Gotta' love Tzusy.

I always knew Sun Tzu was so awesome for a reason.

I just want everyone to know that I haven't punched anyone in a good solid two weeks. So, unless I was sleepwalking, it wasn't me.

So... Sun Tzu and the 36 stratagems apply to relationships?

My relationship is a good demonstration of that.  My wife is extremely prideful and bullheaded.  She approaches every argument the same way:  immediately raise the stakes to absurdity and be prepared to follow through.  I never "win" arguments.  Ever.  On the other hand, she has changed much, much more than I have during the time that we've been together.  What you need to keep in mind is that a person is at their most vulnerable when they're not fighting.  This especially applies when life has just kicked them in the ass because they really were wrong.  "I told you so"s might seem cruel at times, but damn are they effective.  I think it's ok to be cruel to someone once in a while if it's going to help them in the long run... like the time I let Hiro bathe in his own vomit.

I actually don't know anything about him aside from the name. That is simply my own observations from my social experience.
