A friend came into town this weekend, didn't mention it was even happening until the day before, and didn't even try to arrange anything to do. Sigh.

Ah, being a teenager going through puberty.
Wait, everyone wants to become a(n) eunuch, replace most of their parts with cybernetics and find a way to forgo food and water when they become a teenager?
Pretty much, yeah. It's not something they'll tell you in sex ed, though.
Woulda been fucking useful to know beforehand! :P

...does this happen with girls, too? Am I accidentally turning my daughter into a psychotic, unstoppable killing machine? No, wait, that's on purpose. Uh...I'm not turning her into one of those dumbass duckface girls, am I? AM I!?

I don't know. I've never seen or read it. However, I will be training my daughter in all of my martial arts as soon as she's willing to follow directions and/or realizes how fulfilling punching peoples' lights out can be. So, probably a couple years from now. I will also teach her to climb rope overhand, shoot guns, make fire and cook.

Basically, I just want her to be ready to be self-sufficient.

Holy crap. Apparently if Visual studio is retarded enough to automagically do some serialization bs on a class that is not and never was serializable without being asked to do shit... it goes into an unstoppable error message popup mode that cant be killed by task manager.

Maan.... when I was a teen going through puberty, I didn't have a male figure in my life I could trust and talk to. I was so lost.
I had the internet.

Take from that what you will.

MZ, is this you?
I...um...wow. That's awesome. I think that would be considered child abuse, though. Also, I'm not so good with guns.

I don't think child abuse would really apply here (otherwise parents wouldn't be able to let there kids go to football practice and shit, right? Or at least not be able to practice with them). On the other hand, this guy does a whole host of thoroughly illegal stuff throughout the movie, so I don't think he'd care either way - he's willing to do whatever it takes to make sure his daughter can take care of herself.

It's a actually a pretty awesome movie, worth watching I think.

I've heard a lot about Kick Ass but I've never read the comic nor seen the movie. I should rectify that. It sounds exactly like something I'd be interested in.

They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Just a note - It's pretty violent. Awesome, but more violent than the first half would lead you to believe.

It would be child abuse because bulletproof vests have a much higher failure rate than football helmets. Also because getting shot isn't recognized as a sport in most cultures.

Anyway, I offset locker room awkwardness through a combination of practiced apathy and implied violent tendencies. No one wants to be attacked by a naked or near-naked man. Well, no one in America, anyway. I weep for my countrymen.

That would be reckless endangerment, not child abuse, and he's DEFINITELY guilty of that one. :P
(Child abuse requires serious bodily injury to actually occur. I should have left my pre-edit reckless endangerment comment in, heh)
