I'm not feeling too much today.
This makes me sad.
I should probably post this in the happy thread now.

HR people.... Tell me to call you on a certain day for a job opening. Leave your phone off and let roll into voice mail for the whole day....

[sigh]

I've also got shit like,

"ike, 'if you saw a coworker stealing office supplies, would you snitch'
'what's your favorite pasttime
book, etc."

WTF does that have to do with anything about doing a job? And I've gotten weirder questions. My favorite book.... I've read so damn much I honestly can't even narrow it down. I don't even.... So basically our futures are being decided by psychobable pretending to be legit? O yay.... How did this happen?

The people who can do the job are doing the job.

The people who can't do the job get shunted upstairs.

I've understood this for like, 10 years, and every time I think about it, I get depressed. :/

Easy fix: Purposefully suck at your job and get shoved upstairs for a cushy position.

They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

God damn it I can do contracts like nobody's business. I could do this job with my eyes closed and this HR person doesn't even understand the job position, which is plain from her questions about it. How? How did this happen?

If it's any consolation, it sounds like you're living in an action movie right now. Maybe get shot once or twice, that'll complete the theme.

If I am, then the plot is terrible.

Come to think of it, I've actually gotten worse advice than "go get shot once or twice."

Sure as hell not the best advice but I take what I can get. :P
