Personally, I took the route of hacking their facebook and coming out for them.

I'm an ass.

How did you do it? Crack WEP wireless encryption and use ARP poisoning? That is the only way I would think to do it.

EDIT: Except a keylogger, or a fake Facebook-hacking program that prompts for account information.

Yeah, if you're gonna hack a facebook account, social engineering all the way. You always aim for the weakest point of the security chain.

With all the kids having smart phones and saved passwords these days probably just a matter of a minute or two alone with their cell phone.

Keyloggers. People can't resist sticking a thumb-drive they found on the ground into their computer.

I was also one of those nerdy ones.  I was in high school before all those school shooting stories got everybody panicking though.  So being the quiet kid in the corner didn't do much there.  That and I was a skinny runt until about 10th grade.  I got in fights every so often but rarely more than little scuffles, and I ended up on the losing end more often or not.

I moved to a new school in 3rd grade, and would remain in that school district until 11th grade.  I was the class clown that nobody liked from about 3-6th grade.  I was a plain wannabe loser who hung out with people who took advantage of my desperation from about 7-8th grade.  Through all these 5 years, I was picked on a fair amount, and attacked a few times.

In 8th grade my family got internet.  I started being social online, and wasn't so desperate to be social in "real life".  I started learning about the world and realizing the place I lived was extremely backwards, and that it was foolish for me to try and fit in with them.  I became the archetypal 'quiet one'.

I didn't know many people outside of my grade until 10th grade, when classes started mixing together more.  I met a small group of outcasts all a grade or two higher than me.  These people were referred to as "the black trenchcoat gang" BEFORE Columbine happened.  Then that spring... Columbine happened.  Around this same time, I'd been told that we were moving soon, and I started getting a lot more outspoken.  Interesting times.  You couldn't have been caught more in the middle of that cultural backlash than I was.  People were scared of me, and not in the left-me-alone kind of way.  It's a good thing there wasn't much school year left at that point, and we moved away.  Things probably would have gotten really ugly.

I don't know why, but it gives me smug satisfaction when people are afraid of 'the quite one'.

I was the cynical sarcastic kid people weren't too fond of during elementary school and early middle school, although later doing middle school I moved in with my mother and managed to go to a much better smaller school. I'm generally surprised children can be so terrible to other people.

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.
