what

Indeed. what?

Play it along, my smelly buttocks. You'd lose your rep, which IMO, is just as devastating to your life as getting a permanent fracture.

..o_O

Me, I don't seem like an easy target, so as long as I ignore the obvious attempts to hook me I was fine.

Think that's bad? When I was a freshmen, one of the seniors got a huge kick out of homosexually harassing the underclassmen. Take it to the administrator, and her suggestion? Play along, it will creep him out.

Preferably, action that humiliates the bully without the target getting in (much) trouble. The way public schools are now, throwing a punch on school grounds is damn near the worst thing you can do, unless you are in serious danger. So in other words, win by showing the bully that you can make them far more miserable than they can make you.

Speaking from experience, the absolute worst thing to do is to ignore the bully. I don't know how much crap I went through because of the advice of supposed experts, but I would never recommend it to someone unless the bully is obviously not very invested in being an asshole. Good luck with helping your friend out-sometimes, just having a friend who genuinely cares can help.

That's really fucking wrong, for a number of reasons. She shouldn't be working in a school.

Not sure if "out-bullying" them will work too well.  It'll hardly stop them.

As for your #1 point, she was operating under the assumption that he was acting that way because he found homosexuality to be creepy.

As for your other points, she was simply lazy, and eventually was fired for laziness.

(Note: There were <150 students at our school at any given time. Some of the schools in this area had class sizes not much smaller than that at times. There was really no excuse for sloth on the boss's part.)

Eh, it's probably due to differences in experience. In my experience, school officials didn't really care what we did as long as it didn't leave bruises/didn't happen on school grounds, ignoring bullies would get you humiliated or beaten, and fighting back would get you a) suspended and (if you were a slender little twig like me) b) some missing teeth. As kaijyuu said, you have to turn their audience against them. If you don't have friends who will back you up, the only real way to do this is to figure out something that bothers them and be mercilessly cruel until they move on to someone else. Probably not the safest method, mind you, but if you don't have any other options and are careful to never be alone, it's a way.

I was only ever really bullied once in school, and it was in middle school at that. Now, I'm a pretty short and stocky guy. I saw that bully when I was using the bathroom, he punched my arm, I snapped, then I kicked his ass. I don't recall being bullied after that.

Given that I was the unpopular, out-of-shape, smelly, loner kid in HS, I'm surprised I wasn't bullied as much as I was.

Then again, most of my peers were probably convinced I'd snap and kill somebody someday, and they didn't want it to be them. I've chilled out alot since then.

Same thing here, I beat up one kid once who tried to bully me.  And considering I have a body type similar to Dice's, it took him by surprise.

Hear hear!

I was also one of those nerdy ones.  I was in high school before all those school shooting stories got everybody panicking though.  So being the quiet kid in the corner didn't do much there.  That and I was a skinny runt until about 10th grade.  I got in fights every so often but rarely more than little scuffles, and I ended up on the losing end more often or not.

I did have one moment of glory in middle school though where some really huge kid, the kind of stereotypical bully, that's a good foot taller than everyone else, and as thick as a tree trunk, figured he and his friends would fuck with me while waiting for the bus ride home.  I did some jumping uppercut straight out of Little Mac and caught him right in the jaw, right before a teacher stepped in.  He was spitting blood and he went to the nurse's office.   Rumor was he lost a tooth, though I don't know if that was true.  We both missed the bus and got a note sent home, but I never got in real trouble for it.
