Yeah, I know they have my plate number if nothing else so I don't want to risk trying to dodge it.

At least I have chicken.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

So I spend a larger part of the day trying to fix a few big things and make people feel better. And right when I feel I can finally relax and be happy. Everyone is gone and I have to be alone? Again?

Just... What?

Why do I even bother when I can't ever get help when I need it. I want to be a good person but this is just breaking me.

This kind of thing is why teleportation is my power of choice, if I had it I could just teleport over there and give you a big hug and you'd be all like: "Who are you and what are you doing in my house?"
And I'd say, "I am from the internet mon amie, I am here to give you le big hug!"
And you'd say, "WTF?!? Seriously.... also why does your shirt smell like vanilla?"
I'd say, "Because I spilt a glass of cream soda over myself."
And you'd say, "Well it smells kinda nice."
And it would be awesome.

The serious problem with that is I'm a very reflexive and jumpy person. You'd probably end up with a head embedded in the wall before you got a word off.

Then I'd probably feel terrible.

So I should wear a big sandwich board saying something like, "Don't panic, I'm from the internet!"?

Wait, let me get this straight, Janet is 6'1?

Goodness.

I'm neither short nor tall; in my dad's side of the family I'm considered teeny-tiny at 5'11.5".
(The majority of that family are 6'2 - 6'7.)

Welp, to qualify for this thread today, I have officially begun to hate the Sydenham/Watergardens train line. While the express services from Flinders St are fantastic, only stopping at Southern Cross, North Melbourne, Footscray, Sunshine and St. Albans, there are too many disruptions.

It's often late. I know that the Western Suburbs are much maligned, and the trains too, but honestly...

  • Dude chroming aboard train. Newly trained PSOs ignore him, then come back and say "Please stop doing that," - he stops. They hop off. He resumes. Carriage filled with paint fumes so I move to a different carriage via the gangway. Gangway blocked by two bogans having a cigarette and drinking Jim Beam. "Excuse me, I'm trying to get through." Took a couple of tries before they went "OH SORRY MATE" and slightly moved.
  • The ridiculous suicide rate. Once a week, ONCE A WEEK, there is a suicide attempt at Sunshine or Albion. This desperately needs to be addressed.
  • There was a suicide attempt at Sunshine last Tuesday. The police arrived and attempted to convince the woman to climb back up Sunshine Avenue bridge. Metro decided the best course of action to help convince her was to cut power to the ENTIRE LINE, causing massive disruptions to all trains travelling to Werribee, Williamstown and Sydenham/Watergardens. As a result of this, when a girl started coughing up blood on board a powered down train, the doors wouldn't open and the ambos had to drive across the tracks and break the door down to treat her. METRO LOGIC.
Not only that, but why depower THREE SEPERATE LINES when only Sunshine, Albion and Tottenham needed to be powered down.

There are more "Things that made you x" threads popping up.  I don't see why we need more than two.  Even two is excessive but it works.

Should we have a Things that made you happy, but not happy enough for the happy thread thread?

Honestly I can understand the RAEG thread, but those three cover pretty much everything we need I think...

I have two back to back final exams today. When I woke up this morning, my lymph nodes were so swollen I had trouble moving my neck. I think I have a feeling for where this day is headed.

I'm suddenly not sure I want to go tens of thousands of dollars in debt in the hopes of getting a fuck I don't even know.

On one hand, I know I can probably do it and get a job, it's not like I'll just party the whole time and ruin it.  But at the same time I'm set to inherit basically everything I need to say fuck it and get a regular no-college-needed job and live like that.  The house I'll own is completely paid for, I barely spend any money, my car only has a few more payments left, I could totally swing not going to college.

All I have to do is pray nothing bad happens, like my house exploding.

Fuck it, I'll just buckle down, I know I can handle what I plan to do and I'd rather not be a hermit

But god damn, I can see why people dive into fantasy and escapism, this shit is hard to think about.
