Been watching the Red Letter Media reviews of Star Wars... again.  I feel so inadequate :/  It's so depressing to see how good the original Star Wars movies were then how bad the prequels were afterward.  I haven't really written or made much that makes people feel something.  I have talent, I have dedication.  I just don't have... that mysterious way that makes people feel something from something I've made.

Even for the great talents it's hit and miss, for every great Bob Dylan song, he wrote a pile of stinkers.

Also, for movies like Star Wars, it's a huge team effort and no one person is the total creative 'genius' who you're feeling, it's the sum of efforts of many dedicated people. Don't feel bad that as one person you can't match that. Try reading George Lucas's original screenplays, I hear they're pretty bad.

Also your audience decides whether they "feel" anything from their work, not you. You may think your stuff sucks, but it could be awesome to someone out there. Lauren Faust didn't think her MLP reboot would be as big as it is, Andrew Hussie doesn't think Homestuck is the best thing he'll ever make, Mark Twain thought Huckleberry Finn was one of his middling novels and nothing special, etc.

Best idea is to churn out as many ideas as you can. Eventually you'll strike gold.

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Fuck, why did I have to go and watch Grave of the Fireflies?  My life was so much happier before.

Whenever I see a movie that makes its way onto netflix less than six months after it comes out, I can't help but pity it.

So, went out, had a few beers, listened to some music, told the girl how I feel, got the expected answer, listened to another song and went home.

The part that makes me sad is that I expected the rejection, for all the pep talk and support I got from every friend, heck, I even managed to make myself feel confident and awesome. And yet the result was the same as before and I didn't feel a damn thing, just like last time.

So I guess yay for slowly detaching myself from harmful emotions and yay for myself not giving a fuck about what I feel anymore :/

soon they'll be able to contribute to communities before deciding to advertise.

Modern spambots are creepy. They not only manage to create posts that aren't blatant ads,  it is also on-topic o_o...

Don't you hate it when you write ellaborate posts in forums or blogs and then find out that due to a careless edit or a slip you suppressed an important word from a phrase? it can normally be understood by the context but leaves the otherwise pristine text fuglier.

And not the good Angelina Ballerina.

Bleh, the wine spoiled. Had to dump it. 60 dollars and 4 months down the drain in as literal a sense as possible. I'll need to take more care with sterilization next time.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
