How hard is it to find a clerk that knows how to do something that sounds like it's part of the job description?

I am writing...or will write...a novel in which the protagonist throws himself off a cliff at the end.

I have now found a song which gives me an excuse to stretch that scene out to five and a half minute and let his life flash before his eyes before that time: the late Eri Kawai's cover of Cruel Angel Thesis from Neon Genesis Evangelion. It never fails to send shivers down my spine.

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

Evidently harder than finding a clerk who doesn't know what she's doing....

I find this character relatable already. :P I'm too stubborn to allow stupid people not to deal with me though. They aren't getting rid of me that easily. I'll never die, primarily out of spite for the annoying. If I do, you know, get bored or otherwise kick off, I shall be the patron saint of "balance your damn checkbook."

RIP, Earl Scruggs.

For those who don't know, Earl Scruggs was a legendary banjo player who changed not only the sound of bluegrass music, but influenced and was revered by a wide variety of musicians, from jazz to speed metal. He was a native North Carolinian, and kept actively playing right up until the end. He was also a favorite of my late grandfather, so hearing that blazing banjo holds a special place in my heart.

Here's a clip of him playing "Foggy Mountain Breakdown", when he was in his late 70's:o

Also...if you play Audiosurf, anything with Earl Scruggs in it is a bonafide thrill ride.

:(

That's a fellow who will forever be in my music playlist.

... on the other side, I didn't even know he was alive. Doubleshocker. If I'd bothered to find out, probably would have sent that man a letter of thanks or something.

There's not too many left of that generation. I keep telling myself I need to go hear Doc Watson live while I still can, but something always comes up. At least I've seen B.B. King live.  :-\

Finished re-reading "Level 7" by Mordecai Roshwald. The ending nearly had me in tears.

My sister just called, some random antivirus program I've never heard off, nor do I remember installing on our desktop PC back home warned her that there is a trojan in the system.

Since I won't be coming home for atleast another month from the looks of things I can't fix the issue, and knowing my family they are too lazy to take the damn thing to the shop to get it cleaned from viruses and other nasty stuff. And I also know they won't be able to refrain from using it for that long.

And now it seems that my mother needs to finish writing some sort of project, it's rather urgent :I

That's likely a false popup that is a lure to have them click and install a virus/trojan.
