Was a mock exam for 15 year olds. I am experimenting with a new skills based curriculum as part of ongoing research work into educational methodologies. Its not going well. There are 90 students in the group of varying abilites. I think about 25 got partial credit for thier answer. Only 5 got it right in a good way. An alarming number gave the Prius answer (which makes me suspicious), but the other 2 are isolated incidents.

But yea, If I wanna have access to teach undergraduate level Physics to the 18 and 19 yr old high flyers, I also have to deal with the rest of the herd. You win some, you lose some.

Hmm... So... Would an acceptable answer be "Drive the cars at various speeds and compare the fuel fficiency"?

I think I'm missing a text box.

Pretty much. The idea was to notice that factors like speed and distance need to be controlled - essentially its just a question exploring the scientific method. I have again shown that literacy is a barrier to scientific understanding though - that can go in my reserch notes for about the 50,000th time.

When I see them tomorrow some READ THE FUCKING QUESTION CAREFULLY rage will be dissipated.

All my warnings just come from "bay12". You're so lucky.

The taste of a mutt is fine. (I've never gotten the pleasure  ::) of tasting purebred.) It's the after effects that I'd be worried about.

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.
