It's painful to breathe and I can taste blood when I cough. Shit, this isn't good.

That's... pretty not good, yes. Doctor?

Maybe even emergency room, if you've got insurance that'll cover it.

I'd say emergency room, even if you don't have insurance to cover it.

Well, the pain stopped after I coughed up a decent amount of crap. Still a bit hard to breathe, though.

My uncle had a "minor" stroke about 6 months ago. He recovered, even though it did things to his personality and left him very weak.

Today, I found out he fell in the shower, hit his head and now has severe cerebral hemorrhaging. After keeping him in a coma for a while they tried to wake him, but he became violent and started pulling out tubes. So they re-induced a coma and now we're just kinda.....yeah. No paralysis, but cognitively he may be fucked.

He's one of those uncles who was always kind of a douche. Not a terrible person, plenty of fun to be around, but sometimes he could be a douche and a pre-madonna with the rest of the family. Still, this hurts us all, particularly because it seems like this could have been avoided. I can only imagine what my aunt is going through right now, it's been pretty hellish for her and now it's been upgraded to catastrophe.

Wait, what came out of your throat exactly?

This sucks, so all you can do is wait for the doctors to say A or B?

I think that's basically the gist of it. He has to be brought out of the coma by them, and whether he stays out is based on his cognitive functions. So if his cognitive functions are fried, or if he continues to lash out after being awoken....their advice may to be to just let him go. There's really no telling at his point, but signs aren't encouraging.

If god made chicken to be flipped he would have made them flat at the bottom.

I doubt it very much. Particularily in the bolded case.

If we're talking about people in medical trouble, Prince Johan Friso recently got hit by an avalanche. So far there has been no improvement in his condition, but as it has been several days it's probably over for him...
