Apparently the staff adviser for the autism class doesn't give a shit that the curriculum is offensive (he "doesn't micromanage the syllabus"), and recommends that I take the course (despite approximately 50% of the assignments being pointless and the entire approach condemned by the people being discussed) or that I create my own course.
So basically he responded in the most condescending way possible?

Oh, something like that.

He's also the chair of the Psychology department and a specialist in autistic spectrum disorders, and he apparently wants me to go into meatspace and wrest control from a sorority girl.

I may be slapping a petition up on here in the near future.  Stay tuned.  Luckily, I'm mobilizing my contacts in the rhetoric department, and I may be able to get a heavy leverage through a friend in Gender and Women Studies as well.

So... the professor who specializes in AS disorders can't be bothered to review the syllabus for an AS course (because that would be 'micromanaging') for material that is potentially offensive to people with AS disorders? That is extraordinarily rage worthy. Someone ought to remind this man what his job is.

Someone like the Dean perhaps.  Say, do you suppose that leading an academic inquiry that reprimands or ousts a professor for doing a bad job of directing a course, would count for credit with the social sciences department?  Surely they would be impressed by the effort.  It's like work-study.

i'm feeling that the online tabletop group with whom i have played for the last two years dungeon and dragons is going to be dissolved pretty soon by lack of interest from some of the people.
since we are just five in numbers, it would actually mean the end of forum online d&d experience this makes me quite sad too.

Exactly.  I'm fucking pissed, as is pretty much every other person I've spoken to, and the very first thing I'm going to do after finals finish is to do an official itemized list, with references, of every single thing that is wrong with the course as proffered.  Then I'm going to attach it to an email that says something like "You seem not to understand.  I'm registering an official complaint."

And if that doesn't prove to them that you are Autistic and offended, nothing will.  Okay, that was a terrible joke on my part, but I can't help but see some black humor in the fact that there's this whirlwind people refusing to recognize someone else's over an intellectually dishonest courseplan, and it's all based on Autism including the guy who's supposed to be the local specialist.

I know, I'm actually starting to find this pretty funny myself.  Rage-worthy, but in a kind of hilarious way.

So this odd thing keeps happening. I have dreams, promptly forget them upon waking, then over the rest of the day I remember them bit by bit.

Last night I had a nightmare where my dogs ran off for some reason, and I went driving out to find them, and somehow wound up finding them ages away in the middle of nowhere.

Only turns out they were sick, and I need to get them to a vet. But I don't know where any vets are, and I realize somehow I no longer have my contacts in, and my wallet is missing, and actually I'm starting to go blind now.
So I go blind, with two dying dogs whimpering by the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. With no way of contacting anyone.

This was the most disturbing dream I've had in a long time. Makes me kind of wish the slasher dreams would come back.

Fought off police and prosecution tooth and nail, won. Invalidated pretty much everything, arrest, warrant, probable cause, evidential hearings, etc.

Prosecution lost; client won, scott free. Says he isn't paying. I don't care; I'm suing him for it.

Imagine having a rare ability that cost you years to hone, that everyone wants you to use, but no one will willingly pay you for....

Would that be considered irony? Getting sued by your own lawyer for not paying after winning a lawsuit?

Anyhow, I hope you win! He deserves it  :P

The question is, would any lawyer want to take up a case defending you from another lawyer suing you for not paying your lawyer...?
