I'm not good with heat either, quite the opposite, and I'm nearly never cold, but I still love the sun.

Always, always, always the sun.

Take it. I would be happy if the weather was 22C the whole year around, varying to 19 or up to 25C. And that it rained 1/5th of the time.

Andy Rooney died. :(

Rest in peace, you old curmudgeon. You will be missed. You no longer have to deal with shitty computers, and bad music, and everything you hated.

I don't mind the cold for this reason: I can rug up as much as I like, and if I begin to overheat I can take a layer off.

If it's hot, then I can hardly strip off more than one layer, and the heat dissipation offered by that is miniscule. Swimming is well and good but then I have the sunburn to contend with. I burn through SPF30+ sunscreen- (I'm a redhead, nuff said) so I don't enjoy swimming. For me, summer is time spent indoors doing NOTHING, not using the computer because it overheats, not using the TV because it heats up the room, not opening the fridge too much because it stresses the motor... etc.

Honestly, I'd be happy with <0C. I'd enjoy it. Properly dressed of course.

You realize that fruit isn't all that low-cal, right? Those that are "juicy" (overwhelmingly water, basically) are typically the lower calorie ones, but a banana (for instance) typically has about 100 calories. Sweet fruits are basically sacks of sugar genetically engineered to taste delicious, you know. Brief research suggests that a single serving of lean beef, or chicken breast (I figure that "lean meat" typically refers to one of these two, but feel free to correct me), has between 200 and 250 calories. That doesn't necessarily rule out your statement, but it does make me a bit suspicious.

At any rate, everything Heliman said is correct. Listen to this man, he is trustworthy.

Ah, for a guess I was pretty close. I only eat about 4 Bananas a day, sometimes 5.

I do plan to heed his advice, along with everyone elses.

Anyway, we've derailed the thread enough. Let's get back on topic.

I was sad today because i got sunburnt.

Darn australian sun.

I can agree with that, not exactly a derail I care to continue. Well, accept for this last response anyways.

So yes, sad today because I woke up with a headache. Bad way to start the day.

My nephew's pre school teaches homosexuality as a sin. Their mother smiles approvingly.... She's either immensely cruel, or I'm continuing to do that good a job of hiding it....

They have worksheets.... [shivers]. When liberals do it; it's called "indoctrination;" when conservatives do it, it's "good family values...."

No, I'm pretty sure it's indoctrination.

Are you some sorta fire monster?

India must be very hot.

It's 20c in my home, a comfortable 10c outside, and it was 0c this morning, which was fine. On the other hand 30c is uncomfortably hot.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

You should be sad when anyone dies (within reason :P ), but yeah he was a neat guy.

Quote from: Chesterton
For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.
