I had to cut down on it when I arrived here. The caffeine added to the incoming hugexam in five months made me severely sleep deprived

Is it odd that I'm always worrying about my own mortality?

That I'm so crippled by own cowardly feelings, and expectations of myself, that my life feels dull and meaningless? That everything is merely a struggle to escape the feeling of being useless, with nothing making me feel meaningful? That I feel constantly weak and impotent, that my feelings are inconsequential compared to those of each other person, and like I never had control over my own life until recently, and that I'm not an adult, but a grown child? And that my worst fear is my friends, who know nothing of the real me, from learning the truth.

I worry that my ability to change is eroding as age creeps up on me faster and faster. I worry each day that if I died today, my dying moments would be filled with nothing but regret for all the things I haven't done and everything I have done I've failed miserably at; and that the embrace of death is only comforting in knowing the hollow promise of being free from all that accrued guilt and regret.

God I hate being at home, this is such a terrible place. I want to be at my new place, where freedom and work pushes out the worry of my failings and the contemplation of my worth from my mind.

Instead of the awesome weekend I had planned involving a three-day LAN party and designing a bunch of logic circuits, I'm being dragged hundreds of miles away to my mom's boyfriend's parents' 50th wedding anniversary. I am sad to miss the party, but also a tad guilty that I really don't give a flying fuck about the anniversary of two people I have never met before and will likely never see again.

Oh, hey, my family made the news!

Wait, what do you mean my father set the garage on fire?! Well, damn. At least no one was hurt.

The longer I have this laptop, the more I want to smash my hand through my keyboard and rip this stupid processor out.

Whelp, today is my last day in San Diego for a long time. Tomarrow, I'm moving across the entire country to Boston so I can attend college. This is going to be a pretty crazy experience and I'm sad I won't be living in my house anymore. The gravity of rarely seeing my house ever again hasn't really hit me yet, but somehow I think it will eventually. Oh, and I'll miss my parents too of course, but the house. Hooouuuussseee, I'll miss you house. T_T

Gone camping for the weekend. There will probably a mountain of work and other junk to take care of.

I finally watched My Little Pony, the episode with the dragon.

What the fuck is wrong with the internet.  Some of the shit people get obsessed with is warranted.  Adventure Time?  Fuck yeah, Adventure Time.  This is not Adventure Time.

Seriously, what the fuck do people see in this show?  I'm sure I'd like it if I were a twelve year old girl, but I'm not.

I have no idea, but most of my internet friends and real life friends are infected with MLP-mania by this point. And now they collaborate with each other to try and make me watch it. Plotting against me in secret. And yet people say that I'm paranoid, despite the fact that there is a real conspiracy against me, started by a freaking children's show of all things. I think I may have transitioned to Bizzaro-Earth at some point without realizing it.

We are the Bronies.

You will be assimilated (if you want).

Resistance is futile (if you like).

PS: If you watch MLP expecting a comedy, you'll be moderately disappointed. It's got its funny parts but that's not the main draw.

Quote from: Chesterton
For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.
