I'm going to light the whole of the German language on fire.

Looking forward to the livestream of this event.

Looking forward to the livestream of this event.

Won't be long, now.  Just need to get the interwebs working a bit better, so that everyone can see the sparks and shit without massive lag.

*sigh*

I need to spend less time on the net and more time working, which makes me sad because "more time working" is, in all probability, going to mean "more time spent doing German" and not "more time reading fabulous novels."

I also really do not enjoy listening to my roommate smooching and receiving massages from the girlfriend he's about to leave to move in with.  There is something kind of gross about other people making macking noises.

I also am really sick of eating eggs, and although I've only been on a diet for maybe two weeks, I'm sick of it.

I feel pretty horrible right now.  It'll get better, but the first two weeks of summer break were awesome (and in Russia!) and the second two... ohh, man =/  So unproductive.

Apparently searching for housing needs to be added to the list of incredibly stressful things.

Well, fuck.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I thought this was a well-known thing. Like looking for jobs or colleges.

Well, not colleges because they whore themselves out more than the desperate fresh out of highschoolers looking for jobs, but the same general idea.

So, who's up for being a part of the starting 7? I know that there's a lot of wilderness for sale just ripe for making a homestead on...

Needs to be within reasonable commute distance of Iowa City. I'm gonna have classes. I suspect finding a place that is similarly suitable for Vector, as well as yourself (replace classes with job or any other obligations you may have), may be a geographical impossibility unless you happen to know where R'lyeh is. Do you know where R'lyeh is? That would help. I bet extradimensional housing is expensive, though.

It takes loads of time, and about a year ago I was pretty much incapable of using a phone for anything, including attempting to get psychological help when I was considering killing myself.  I'm having a hell of a time trying to act normal, which just makes me more stressed, which makes it harder to act normal.  I also am thinking about all the people of my own age that I've ever met, and how very much I don't want to live with them =/

That, and it's taking me 3+ hours a day to search, which makes cooking, doing German homework, my 3 hours of German class + 1 hour of transportation to and fro very, very tiring.

Blagh.

Gah, while we're on this subject. I have a problem. I won't be registering for classes until August. I won't know my schedule until then; I won't be able to work out a job schedule without my class schedule; I won't be able to get a place to live until I have a job (need to know my budget); I won't be able to register for classes and all that crap without a place to live while I'm doing it. ARGHBLE EVERYTHING IS A VICIOUS CYCLE OF HATE.

There are colleges all over the world, and most jobs can be done anywhere near a city, so long as said job isn't ultra-specialized (If you're working for NASA, you're going to expect to live in certain places.) Besides, if we hit Bauxite, we can actually make it into aluminum using the Kroll Process. Hooray, almost limitless wealth!

When a job asks you when you are available, you just lie - or barring that, tell them weekends/evenings as you plan on being a student.

Anything to get your foot in first, once you're trained, then it's more of a hassle to get rid of you than schedule around you.

So, being added to the long list of major companies being hacked is BioWare. These guys are getting dangerously close to places I have accounts on.
I'm kind of wondering if it's the same guys every time, or if it's different people who thought it would be cool and relatively easy to do.

It was a decade old server for Neverwinter Nights, so assuming you weren't involved with Bioware then you should be fine.
