It turns out playing Amnesia The Dark Descent is only slightly above 'stare at rapidly flashing colors' on the list of 'fun things to do when you have a headache.' The more you know. Ow.

Back in a cold house in Berkeley, having coughed so much that it feels like all the muscles on the right hand side of my torso have been pulled, and without vidjagames.

Instead I had three hours of German today.  Result: everyone is impressed with me for no reason (=/) + a test on Friday (D:) + a shitty drawing of Otacon (D:<).

I'm starting to wonder if the forum games I make are really forum game material.

The first one was, but then again it was more of an experiment than a real game.  These more complicated ones I'm doing, I'm not sure though.  I have these ideas for awesome stuff but somehow I'm not sure I'm comfortable with introducing the Player Input factor, and if I can't let the player influence the story it's not a game.

But at the same time I don't want to just write a story.  I guess I'll just have to suck it up and let the players do what they do.

Pop some popcorn and take a seat on the couch instead. If that doesn't make them realize what they're doing, hey, free show.

There's a fine line between railroad shooter and WIZARD!!!. One is enjoyable as a read, the other is enjoyable because the creator is just going along with it. Somewhere in the middle is where you want to be- Have a plot planned out, who the antagonists are, etc. but let the players make a large amount of choices.

After watching some silly person who occasionally posts here play Alpha centauri, I decided I wanna play it too. So I get my girlfriends CDs and get ready to install it.

It won't even try to install. I just get the windows seven loading circle on my cursor and it stops. I have no idea why it wont try to install and I don't even know what to do to fix it. And this is from an original CD.

You might need to run the XP compatibility mode I've heard so much about.

No compatibility mode I've tried so far has worked. Or running it as an administrator.

I had a similar issue with Civ II.
It wouldn't even let me run the installer in compatibility mode.
I was so disappointed.
Loved that game so much.

Not really sad, but annoyed with Congressman Weiner for lying about his Twitter account being hacked and doing something so incredibly stupid in the first place. [Insert being a dick joke here]

無(nothing)& 同じ(same)。
Every time I see them recently, I just start crying.
Not the English words, though, only the kanji, for some reason.

I've just been sad a lot lately.
I guess it wouldn't be so bad were it not for the fact that I keep switching between this and ridiculously happy.
