I'm very impulsive. I've signed up to Bay12 Forums due to the fact that I am, indeed, sitting here, depressed in my solemn realizations. The name comes from my mental state. I'll probably regret dubbing myself "Dependent" by tomorrow, when I get my prescription refilled. But regardless, it suits my personality.

I'll take that as a 'welcome!'. Thanks, JoshuaFH. I certainly hope it's an environment I'll fit into. For the time being, it'll serve to occupy me during my sleepless nights. Perhaps I'll find myself returning even during my more active hours, though. It does seem like quite the homey place. :]

I feel like giving up on trying to get along with people, and spending the rest of my life studying mathematics while slowly going insane.

It's not the best thought-out plan, and I'm probably not going to follow it.  It does, however, have its momentary appeal.

Just keep your eye on the prize, insanity is only fun if you attain mad science out of it. The other kinds are kind of, well, no fun...

I'm sad because I realized an X-Com first-person shooter would be the coolest thing ever made ever, but it'll never happen.  Think about it though, it starts out a horror shooter, pitting your becoverall'd self against extremely advanced technology, people getting vaporized, huge crazy explosions.  Then as technology advances it turns into a more tactical squad-based shooter where you're on more-or-less even footing.  Then the Chryssalids show up, and it turns into a horror shooter again.  I imagine the first encounter with chryssalids having the player's squad locked into a multi-story hotel of sorts, and the entire population of the hotel has been turned.  It'd be terrifying.

It'll never happen though, I'm sad.

Insanity can be fun; hallucinating that you're the king of the world and everything is great is fun. Hallucinating that you're constantly being devoured by Cthulu is not.

I meant the elder god, but it would have been hilarious if someone had shopped a picture of Cthulu's avatar devouring mine. And then if someone else had posted "HOTT".
I'm sad that this didn't happen.

I'm sad that Cheddarius' wild avatar-eating fantasies have been the most hysterical thing I've read in a long time. But nonetheless, that thought is amazing. Somebody make this fantasy come true. :[
