Auuuugh fuck.

Fuck fuck fuck.

I have my first no-do-overs midterm tomorrow, for Rhetoric.  I have a quiz for Russian.  I have an oral exam for Russian.  I have multiple problem sets due.  Three, to be precise.

I am so stressed.

Nietzsche!  Freud!  Marx!  They all say pretty much the same thing, so how in the fuck am I supposed to actually say anything but "derp, it's the same thing but for the economy" or "dudes, it's the same thing but with brains and sex."

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH
I don't know why we continue to study Freud's theories, they are proven wrong many times in history especially by him.
Freud wasn't totally invalid, in my opinion. I think he simply may have been too shortsighted to consider the idea anything he concluded about an individual could be incorrect, or that his ideas could apply to himself.

Not to mention, he did manage to help some of his patients. No crackpot could do that. Even if he somehow just got lucky in those cases, he was without doubt able to popularize psychology so that real scientists could enter the field.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Just finished Zombie Powder, and was again disappointed. I'd have thought I would've learned last time. But hey, Tite Kubo's busy doing his thing, which makes him rich, so I wouldn't expect him to come back and finish one of his early series.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

Well, we still study Newton's theory of gravitation and that's been disproven too replaced by Einstein's theories of of relativity, which posit a completely different mechanism for gravitation and yield better results.... but the older theory is often good enough

I guess what I'm saying is that "Wrong" doesn't necessarily imply "So-wrong-as-to-be-useless"

We study Newton because he was one sexy son of a bitch, as opposed to Einstein.

You know this is true.
