I overslept this morning and had to run to work.

When I got there I found it cordoned off by the police, and all of the fire alarms were going off.

EDIT: Just checked my e-mail. It's a bomb threat, not a fire. Whoa.

This sounds like something for the happy thread. Avoided a bomb threat by oversleeping.

And avoided being late to work by a bomb threat. Double win. Very convenient. In fact....a little TOO convenient.... ???

Still, I wonder what the hell is going on over there.

Meh, I signed up for the Bay12 secret santa, at this point, revealing where I work is pretty inconsequential, hahaha.

How do you think I felt when I got there? Like, me being late somehow resulted in the building bursting into flames.

Of course, that was before I found out it was a bomb threat and not a fire, but still.

Also, regarding that news article; I actually was out there at the time and saw the helicopter that took that photo. Based on the angle of the library the picture shows, I am one of those specs down there on the sidewalk.

I might as well submit that to the Bay 12 photo share.

EDIT: lolwat at the comments to the article

Cats are VERY good at finding hiding places, so your cat may just be asleep somewhere.

Went and heard a lecture from some "professor" at some college.

The whole time the dude talked in some super fast catastrophe speech.

His eyes were also closed the whole time.

It was actually an audio recording. The man you saw on the stage was a corpse.

3 work colleagues want to add me on facebook.
Problem is, that 2 of them are idiots, which probably would use any piece of information they find there, to poke fun of me.

The third one, is actually ok, but is afraid to stand out, so he joins in with them.

Not quite sure what I should do.
Maybe add the this one, and hope the other two forget about the whole thing?

God, life was so much easier when I didn't have facebook (about 3 months ago).

I haven't looked at or updated my facebook in years, and I'm happier for it.

I basically check it once or twice a day, for anything interesting.
Guess I don't have to mention, that this is a dissapointing endeavor.
Most of the things posted there are trivial and I rarely write anything myself.

I just got it because friends urged me for years (always was an enemy of those social-networking sites).
My thoughts were "Huh, why not? Maybe I'll get to know some interesting people".
That far no success.

Bah, I got mine back after a few blissful months/years/whatever of disuse because it's the only way Aspen will keep in touch ;^;

Oh, well.  Yet another thing to get rid of when I go back to Berkeley :D

Simple. Tell them you have a policy of no work friends on Facebook. My wife and I both have that policy. A lot of people do now, actually. Plus, that way they'll think you called them friends.

I've started letting Facebook wither on the vine. Partly because of the privacy concerns, and partly because its becoming as cluttered and shitty-looking as MySpace.
