That is why I said sort of. To be perfectly honest, the wording in the sentence is a little weird on that, but it certainly wouldn't be the first time Lovecraft has taken inspiration from dead religons.

Yeah I ended up sleeping on the floor today.
It was kind of hard and stuff but I was completely dry in the morning so in the long run its much more comfortable.

I was quite happily reading Lovecraft until my friend texted me as a reminder that we have a maths paper for tomorrow. It's midnight damnit.
Was nice to chat with him for a while though. Better than maths paper at least.

Also, watching Event Horizon just before going to sleep does not make for nice dreams. Strangely, one of them included Optimus Prime getting his spine ripped out. Only odd because he doesn't have one to begin with.

iirc from when I was a mythology addict, that's either Anubis (the jackal headed god, representing death) or some crocodile-headed god whos' name I can't remember. I have a book on all that stuff somewhere.

Cthulu always came across as quite an original idea to me, inspired by ancient gods maybe, but quite original in itself. Of course, now he appears to have become slightly clichéd, but that's not his fault.

Ammut and Cthulhu don't really have much in common. One's an underworld goddess who is part of the process of judgment, the other one is an ELDER THING FROM BEYOND SPACE AND TIME AND A REALM WITH ALIEN GEOMETRIES AAARGH BLGRLGELTR
