Bleh.

Somehow, I have gotten sick.

Skills, Vector, skills!  How do I even do this?  I should have known from the fact that I was walking around yesterday wearing two sweaters and a jacket in the house, but no--I thought that was normal.

On the other hand, this fixes the "I don't want to visit Thyme" problem.

It's okay, you can just use your hair as a blanket to keep away the chills. You'd probably have enough left over to make a comfy, comfy hammock.

It's time for Numbers With Retro!

1: politics midterms
1: comprehensive study guide
3: old midterms from previous years to be used as examples
8: hours spent studying
48: hours awake (and counting...)
100: percent of study guide committed to memory
0: number of things on comprehensive study guide that were on the test
20: number of things not on comprehensive study guide that were on the test
20: number of things we did not discuss in class that were on the test
3: out of 20 questions likely answered correctly

I hate to be so... hateful, but fuck my life and fuck my professor for totally and knowingly misleading the entire class into ignoring the material she intended on including and instead focusing us on a bunch of apparently useless bullshit. There's only three things being marked in this class the whole semester (this, an essay, and an exam), and this midterm's worth 30%. Assuming I got the 3/20 I think I did, that's what, about 25% of my final grade I'll never get back? I'm going to have to ace the coming essay and exam just to make a C. I could have focused on studying solely for my other exam, actually slept one of the last two nights, and done just as horribly with way less stress.

On the bright side, my second midterm of the day went pretty great and I'm dead certain I aced my essay, but that shit still ruined my week. At least I got home a few hours earlier than I expected. Sleep time. With any luck, I won't dream.

That's something of a dick move for your professor. The point is not to test their ability to second guess the instructor, but to convey information and help them commit it to memory. That sort of fake-out just breeds a lack of trust and stress.

Lame, nameless professor. Lame.

Anyway, I still have my Anthropology midterm next week to study for, and that involves reading a lot of material. Mostly since the reader that was supposed to come with my textbook just got here two weeks ago, and I need to read half a semester worth of text.

I'm sad, angry - outraged, even - and disappointed.

Spoiler: Angah (click to show/hide)

I'm going to stop the rant there, as I tend to lose my coherence when I write something long (I think I already did). Not sure how it went from "they" to "you" at the end, either.

I feel a bit better, now that I vented my anger.

On a more serious note one of the kids in our health class had a seizure when we were watching a video on how to help someone having a seizure.
