Add ten or eleven "very"s to that statement between "as" and "general" and yeah, he's about right.

The problem with D&D alignment isn't as much the actual thing as it is the people using it, who either take it too literally (herp derp chaotic neutral) or get it backwards and think your alignment determines your behavior, rather than vice versa.

And I'm done.
That was annoying.
This class is not a class in health, it's a class in bullshit artistry.

You go, guys.
I feel your pain.  For a junior high english class, we did a class activity on horror stories.  The teacher placed a few papers around the classroom, and we each took turns writing on each one and adding to the story.  Of course, most of the attempts to be scary ended up hilarious because of how bad they were.  Until the paper was passed to me.  I wrote a short segment about a woman shrieking as she fell into a quarry and a dark cloaked man laughing as he escaped into the woods.  Then a student was chosen to read each story, and the class went from laughing hysterically to dead silent when they read mine.  Don't give up Vector, you're doing it right.

I would guess I would get a similar reaction in such a class. Since really I've done a looot I regret.

heh...I'm right there with ya.

I'm not giving up, but it's really odd to get comments back on my bare-bones "just the facts" story with "Holy shit.  This is so powerful & the writing is beautiful" on it.

It's a story about a young woman starting off in a fairly decent situation, which gets worse and worse due to her own idiotic inaction, naive obliviousness, sense that life really should be fair, and desire to please everyone.  Then she goes nuts as Things Get Worse (and worse, and worse, and worse) and simultaneously becomes a mathematical lily of great (mental) beauty and promise.

...

It actually sounds a lot more interesting when I write it that way.  Huh.

Well, anyway.  It's getting a bit weird to have whatever crap I write be returned with "OMFG amazing" on it, but gift horses and mouths and all that.

I wrote a rant about the last couple of days, but realized doing that made feel a bit better, and deleted it.

*Sigh.*

I just wrote a three paragraph essay for english. It took me two and a half hours to write. It's supposed to be a 5-paragraph essay, and my paragraphs are tiny. We were also supposed to use a framework that I did not use, the subject of the essay is just plain wrong, and the style of the essay is also completely wrong. I'm probably not going to even get credit for it.

But I fucking tried.

I dunno, you guys have survived Thomas the tank engine, golems, zombies, nuclear explosions, laser whales, and being on the same team as ragnarock.  I don't think something as tame as a world ending rain of lava will even slow you guys down.
