Edit: Actually I just connected. Yay. But now no one is on QQ
I am on! I just don't talk to anyone!
...not sure that counts.

Thank God we've only got Jackrabbit, rudeness, stagnancy, pretentiousness, Jackrabbit, Jackrabbit's egos down here.

Did you make the obvious TF2 reference?
I actually have no idea what reference you're referring to.

Son, I am disappoint.

I dunno, you guys have survived Thomas the tank engine, golems, zombies, nuclear explosions, laser whales, and being on the same team as ragnarock.  I don't think something as tame as a world ending rain of lava will even slow you guys down.

(x3+3x)+(12x-x4)

This is not hard. How is this hard. I am disappoint also.

What exactly are you doing with these polynomials, anyway?

I'm just getting the unit done and crunching numbers, which unfortunately aren't as challenging as I hyped them up to be a year or two ago.

Replace x with sin(x), then remove that + between the two.
That's sorta what I'm doing, as soon as I get back to school.
And identities, which are supposedly the hardest thing we'll learn this year.

Okay, knowing absolutely nothing of what you're doing I just multiplied them and added them, and I got

-sin(x)7 + 9sin(x)4 + 36sin(x)

I'm probably wrong, but whatever. It looked interesting and I tried it.

Erm, I don't think he was saying you should do that to make it easier, he was saying that's his course material (The formula you posted is reducible to a first order sine function by the way, but odd-ordered sinusoids are always a pain to work with). What do you have to do with that formula anyway? Simplify it? Solve f(x) = 0? Take the derivative? The anti-derivative? The inverse? Find the inflection points? Find asymptotes? Nobody can help you if you don't give any context.

I didn't really need any help. I was just lamenting upon the triviality of it all. Just needed to simplify it.

And I didn't do it to make it easier for myself or anything. It seemed interesting so I looked at it and spat some algebra out.

Tried Omegle.

If you are taking a pre-Calculus (or similar) class, watch out for the combination of trig identities and proofs. That is a deadly duo before which even the mighty tremble.

It's just trig. Next semester is analytical geometry. Next year is AP statistics. Then I take calculus.
We don't have a dedicated pre-calc class.

That sounds like a long route to the Calculus. My high school goes like so. If you're in the 'advanced' class, you can take Integrated I early, and The Second Calculus is usually unachievable.

Integrated Mathematics I (Can be taken in 8th grade.)
Integrated Mathematics II
Integrated Mathematics III
Pre-Calculus
The Calculus
The Second Calculus

My 7th grade math teacher absolutely hated me, so they decided that a 95% wasn't quite good enough for Integrated I, and thus I had to take it my freshmen year. I then took Integrated III over the summer, proceeded to take both Integrated II and Pre-Calculus last year, and now I'm in Calculus as a junior, and one of extremely few to be doing Calculus II next year. (I think there are four, and they're the people that did Int. III over the summer with me.)

On second thought, that doesn't sound any longer than my list, I just went through mine at twice the normal rate.
