Ask what exactly it has to do with his subject, move on?

That or awkward silence.

But then, life was also easier when I was running around here pretending to be a man, so I guess I should just "man up" and get back to work.

I read a book that tried to be all clever and future proof by stating that fossil fuels are no longer in use.

I failed to have my 20+ goblin drowning chamber/indoor pond ready before I went to work today.  Didn't remember to link up the cages until the moment before I pulled the lever.

Our project is creating a poster about such themes of environmentalism and sustainability, so I'm torn between her just doing this for this project and the possibility of every project having that theme.

Sounds interesting. What game is this?

You could make a poster showing the BRIC countries zooming past the ailing, slipping United States, on their powerful flying carpets made of coal soot and clubbed baby seals.

It's sort of an interesting problem: Your teacher is factually correct on both halves of her assertion, but the connection between the two halves is much more tenuous. We *are* slipping in the world, and we *aren't* doing a great job towards sustainability and renewable energy. But it's like saying "It hasn't rained all month (factually true, at least here) because the President is a black man (also factually true).

Whereas the "up-and-coming" nations like Brazil, India, China and Russia are hardly models of environmental responsibility. China, in particular, is set to be a full-on disaster if and when their level of consumption comes anywhere close to ours.

One last bit of over the shop homework right here, need to make a poster about caution labels.  Seems kinda interesting, and well, helpful.

Nah, I don't need help with anything Solifuge.

My X-COM saved game is already unstable.  Crashed twice in an hour, gonna restart and see if XComUtil will make it any better.

Does anyone know a way to keep this from happening?

You're playing X-COM on a modern computer with a homebrew mem-editor.  From a technical standpoint, the entire exercise should be doomed to failure anyway.

I feel full of contempt for humanity today for some reason. More than usual I mean.

I dunno, you guys have survived Thomas the tank engine, golems, zombies, nuclear explosions, laser whales, and being on the same team as ragnarock.  I don't think something as tame as a world ending rain of lava will even slow you guys down.

If you can't identify the reason, how can you think to quantify the level of your contempt as greater?
