My neighbor is cutting down a bunch of trees they had in their yard. Always makes me sad when trees are felled.

I feel the same way

Look, the neighbor has 20 dwarves without beds. It must be done, industry demands it.

Car's booked in for a service and it's gonna be expensive.

To wit:

Cam belt needs replacing (£400-£500)
Rear brake discs are binding and need looking at
Front right wheel squeaks when I'm turning at high speed
Air con needs servicing because it's not working and it might need more than a regas

On top of regular service fees and any problems they find.

You can get a patent for anything as long as you clearly describe it and there's no prior art. You don't need to prove it works (and people often don't - they patent the idea before they put massive effort into implementing it, so somebody else can't swoop in at the last minute and steal the patent out from under them.

Right, I'm blocking Twatter for two reasons.

First, obvious reason, fuck Elon.

Second, I look at any pro-trans thing on it and the algorithm then promotes every last transphobic reply. Shit ain't fun.

That's not even the algorithm. People that have paid for a checkmark are automatically catapulted to the top of replies, and very few people who aren't utter shits have thus paid.

Technically still the algo. Just that the munters are using it to promote their shitty views.

No, no, its the algorithm. Twitter runs on a special "lol, lets make everyone fight all the time" algorithm where it shows you stuff to piss you off since that drives engagement.

This is distinct from the youtube and facebook algorithms where they throw right wing extremist & Andrew Tate stuff at you just because. (This is especially egregious on youtube shorts (their ticktok equivalent) where they really really love Andrew Tate)).

Is munters a typo or a fresh new expression for my collection?

In my experience it describes an incredibly ugly person.

How is distinct exactly? iirc only I saw Andrew Tate short once(twice?) in the last year, are you sure its not a you thing..

Otherwise most people don't want to pay for content, and thus popular platforms have little options beside relying on engagement. The moment you start to censor things (like porn and edgy stuff) people move to who ever isn't. Also I find that in recent years anonymity online often drivers cruelty and abuse.

I applauded anyone who is willing to experiment and try to figure new options to solve existing problem, at the least you should see less tate stuff.

Basically, although I'm using it as a generic insult right now.

From the place where i first heard it, i would think it means "obnoxious little kids".
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Google translate translates it from german as "lively", which doesn't fit anywhere because it is adjective.  :P
