Thanks folks. I've decided best way is to actually just completely ignore reality and play this full volume while singing. Worked well so far for the last several minutes.

Sometimes that sort of thing is the best response.

Yeah... is good for the first hour. Brainpan doesn't want to shut down tho. Haven't slept in awhile. Feels creepily like manic phases I've not had in years or smt. If I'm on the news next week for running around naked covered in tinsel and throwing chickens or someshit then you'll know why.

I got the lowest grade in the class on one of my finals in a course I had thought I was doing reasonably well in.

To be fair, they didn't grade any of the HW after the midterm until we'd already taken the final, so we had five weeks' material without feedback on how it went. But I feel like shit.

Ah, that sounds like the exact way they did my Organic Chemistry lab.

Except the people who got the highest grades were the 2 I tutored. The TA felt bad enough for my poor performance that I got a pity D-.

I had an exam once where the professor didn't count the grade, his words were like "I clearly didn't prepare you all for this test. Therefore if you showed that you had any understanding of fluid mechanics you passed.  Only one person failed, because while your picture of a tree was fairly well drawn, it did not indicate any understanding of the material at all."

That test was brutal, I remember being like "what is this stuff?" and it was the only time in my academic career I wept after taking a test.  Disclaimer: I was not the person who drew trees; I think my raw score was between 50 and 60%, by far the lowest I'd ever achieved.

I've reached the point in the great spiral of Depression where most of my time is spent skimming from one thing to the other looking for the thing to actually do. Scrolling up and down the steam games, going onto the forums to look for something to read, opening Reddit, closing Reddit, going back to steam, rinse and repeat. Time to quintuple my antidepressant dosage, I guess.

That's not called depression, that's called boredom.  Which I can totally get, in these times of lockdown

Eh, one of the things of depression is being unable to find enjoyment in things you normally might. I have found it to be one of the least concerning things of depression, but it’s a sure sign something is amiss.

I usually force myself to play a game during those times. Doesn’t always work but it’s better than, for lack of a better word, moping about trying to fill time.
