I think, in the last two or three weeks, I have got more than four or five hours of sleep in a night precisely once. Now my IDE has a weird bug and I'm writing code blind because I can't test it while relatively severely sleep deprived. Living the dreeeeaaaam.

Lord Baal's situation makes me sad. Mostly because apparently it's communists fucking up again. As a communist, I wish they'd stop fucking shit up, because it's giving the whole ideology a bad name.  Capitalism may be wholly evil and give in entirely to the basest and darkest whims of humanity, but that makes it stable and so everyone goes "oh capitalism works", while communism, which attempts to curb the excesses of humanity and impose a positive social order, is difficult to maintain for the same reason that it's easy to give your kids chocolate and tell them to watch TV while it's difficult to force them to do their homework and eat their vegetables.

Bonus points - under this supposedly democratic system we've got set up in Britain, I've never gotten what I want out of any
national vote.  If it is desirable that my voice be heard, how am I to accomplish this goal?  As long as I work within the system I'm silent, so then what options do I have?  Any action I take outside of it paints me as a criminal and uses that justification to silence me instead!

So yeah... that's been upsetting me this and every week.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.

I'm a conformist by nature. I would never actively work against the current system by my own volition.

Also, true communism would never work because it relies on people not being idiots. Same with anarchism. The USSR was not truly communist, it was socialist with communist elements.

You self identify as communist? On a scale from 1 to communism I probably pass Marx on the 3rd lane - when it comes to actual writings I largely prefer anarchism, especially Bakunin, but I wouldn't identify neither as communist nor as anarchist.

Other than that: it's not that surprising that communism doesn't work when engulfed in capitalism; it's like measuring the high jump of somebody's who is in the water and merely concerned by not drowning. I mean we measure their success in capitalistic terms (GDP, export overplus etc) that should sum the whole problem up.
I mean that most often, communist governments either fold or turn into a collapsed husk of a country.

Doctor’s visit seems in order.

Could just be impacted earwax. Are you prone to sticking things in your ears?

I have had an hour of EXPLOSIVE diarrhea. It just keeps going and going and going, it's like a magmafall and it burns about as much.

I'm not even prone to poking things in my ear, my entire sinus system is just genetically fucked to the point where it likes to commit wax-induced suicide from time to time.

I think my first doctor visit to deal with just such an occasion was when I was about 11-12 years old. I apparently ended up frightening one of the technicians with the amount that came out of my head.

This is a cause for great joy! When have you ever had two bouts of explosive, I-would-rather-get-buggered-by-large-turkish-men diarrhoea back-to-back?  Almost never!  So the chances of you suffering in this manner are pretty low for a pretty long time!  Plus, think of the free colonic irrigation you're receiving right now.  If you can get your face to a tap, you can get that total-cleanse feeling afterwards (while you hold yourself and cry because your anus has been destroyed).

Baal is extra screwed because the situation in Venezuela is worse than western media likes to make it seem. On one side you have Maduro, an incompetent sycophant suddenly placed in a poisition of leadership and being manipulated by people who see in communism an excuse to attain power... and on the other, less publicised side, you have oligarchs that not only don't give a shit about the people (they are the same people who hired snipers to shoot at a pro-Chavez crowd back in the day, filmed a few folks in the crowd firing back to make the snipers back off and edited the footage to make it look like the communists were firing against a non-existent anti-Chavez crowd) and are pissed because the government statized a bunch of oil-related corporations they really want to privatize in order to syphon as much cash as they can.

And when you throw in sanctions by Trump...

My diarrhea ends, and I learn that Terry Davis has committed suicide. Schizophrenia is such a terrible thing, and for him to create what he did whilst he was so affected was inspiring to so many.

It's worth it to try now, so long as trying would not worsen your situation. In my opinion.

Regarding Teneb's comment: Well shit. That does not help things.
