Then he should punch that shit into life advice.

And then wait for us all to lynch him.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

okay, maybe 'fix' was a strong word. let's try 'deal with'. i really really don't want to actually fall in love with her (we live too far away to be in a meaningful relationship) but i might have passed the point of no return. all my attempts to break it off have ended in failure and me liking her more. besides that this is the sad thread and i just posted what made me sad. this isn't really a big deal, not big enough to warrant its on thread.

There is no point of no return.  If you cannot sustain a long-distance relationship, then break up with her.  Yes, it will hurt, blah-de-freakin'-blah.  That's life.

If you want to know what to do post-breakup, however...

Write in a journal.  Listen to sappy violin music.  Watch violent movies.  Watch shmoopy movies.  Play Mafia.  Sit around the house.  Talk to your mom and curl up into a little whiny ball of misery.  Learn to play go.  Read confusing literature.  Fix your bike.  Learn to make jam.  Learn to cook.  Do embarrassingly bad art.

Oh wait... it should take you just a couple days to get over it, right?  Then my list will do ya.

I do the third one a lot. and the sixth one, and ninth, and the thirteenth one.

I can say I've never been in that kind of relationship before, and they can help with disappointment and stuff.

You should also add stare blankly into space and take long naps and play mindless violent videogames to that list, but that's me.

Yeah, I'm mostly in the reading, philosophizing, and number-crunching businesses, myself... but I do love making food.  And eating it.

Hence the avatars, I guess.

Okay, and violent movies are pretty awesome, too.

Nothing beats staring into blank space for hours on end.

NOTHING, YOU HEAR

I love eating. A little too much, my sisters would say, but w/e.

I want to write, but for some reason I can't seem to finish anything... D:

Yeah, I've got an idea, but it's kind of... percolating right now.  Should be good, though, if I manage to pull it off :3

Derp
OMGUS

Someone ought to put up a sign in this thread that says: Don't Feed The Trolls.

Our dear friend WhiskerMeister is playing a character. He is purposefully portraying himself as a shameless asshole with no redeeming qualities, most likely with the intent of laughing at how angry everyone else is getting at him. I'd further evidence this by the fact that most every post has been about this subject, deviating to other topics only to add to the scenario, or otherwise goad people into telling him what a terrible person he is, to which he will reply flippantly and as though he can't see it. There was nothing that attracted him to the forum or community in the first place... not a forum game, not a friend, not Dwarf Fortress, nothing. Thus, we have a simple case of someone who was banned, who rejoined on an alt-account, and strove to create this persona in an effort to get people to insult him, and thereby derive many a LOL.

Mystery solved. Now get back to being miserable, or I'll tell you you don't really exist either.

I have Schrödinger's misery.
Am I happy or sad?
Because you won't know until you observe me, I am both at the same time.

*shrug*

Yeah, he spends most of his time being insufferable, and yet... I still believe him.  Either he's a skilled troll, I'm spectacularly naive, or he's not lying.

Or all of the above.

Well, whatever.  I'll just have to hope that things will resolve themselves.

... I remember when I was a young persona, trying to make it in a big forum.

I hope he's a troll, but people like that are out there. I doubt they'd be on the DF forums though.
