So... my heart's kinda technically broken now, I guess.
To be honest, so far it doesn't feel all that much worse than the usual agonizing over imagined worst-case scenarios and data-backed feelings of inferiority I was doing already, but this has significantly less chance of clearing up once I am happily proven wrong.

On the plus side, I don't have to care about anything anymore! Hooray!
Also I finally have a proper excuse for all the sad songs I sometimes write! Score! *fistpump*

I'm saying goodbye to a lot of people in the (very) near future - I'm going to travel a long ways away and be very very busy for a while. And it's not easy to say goodbye. This kind of belongs in the happy thread too but AHHHH major life events.

Eh you live in a world in which long-distance communication is pretty easy, you might not get to spend time with folk but you won’t lose touch with ‘em.

That's wrong you know. Three is the loneliest number you will ever know. And I do know it's from a song btw. Being the "third wheel" with a girl you like and another guy is worse than being by yourself. Three is provably the loneliest. If you're in an even-numbered group, even if most people are couples, there's always one other odd one out to talk to, and with two or more other couples, there will be enough back and forth that you can be involved in the conversation (e.g. the girls will chat together leaving you guys to also do that). With you and just one couple paying complete attention to only each other, it's the sweet-spot of awkward lonely feeling.
