I was recently thinking I should go visit my gma, or at least call her...
Today I found out her sister, my great-aunt, is being taken off her feeding tube.

...  And now I am very drunk.
I guess, the question is, will I have the courage tomorrow to visit her basically-dead YET NOT DEAD corpse.
I would let her just die in peace, like I would want but fact is my gma is very much alive and I know she'd love to have me home... even for a day.  So I probably will.

Or else regret it forever
No rest for the wicked, particularly when we're ashamed of our wickedness.

The family always wrote her off as slow, but she was exceptionally kind.  She played checkers whenever we kids visited, and told us stories.  I'll always remember her that way.

The funeral itself is less of a concern, but hopefully I'll find the strength to attend that too.  Even if it means two trips (better than staying a full week).  My dress clothes aren't ideal, but she won't mind...  My presence is what will matter, for me and for the family.
Not for her, she'll be dead...

...I just...what? What the fuck did these people think was going to happen? Did they listen to anything the guy ever said at all?

I would say a sad here, but I don't feel entirely comfortable doing so.

Among all the other things I am trying to fix in my life, I am trying to correct my sleep schedule. I'm even taking notes of when I go to sleep each night in order to better track my habits and be able to make deliberate measurable efforts to change (like go to sleep earlier than I did the night before).

Despite this extra action I continue to make bad decisions, like staying up late procrastinating on the internet. I keep sliding back into bad habits and ruin whatever slight improvements I might make

You could try getting something that shuts down your computer/ability to access the internet at a specified time. I've found the best way to force self control is to have an extra step in between, so it's a bit of effort to actually do it.

A friend of the family in Boise may not be able to bring his family into the country due to recent executive actions. I remember meeting him and his cousins in the summer when we were going to my dad's reunion, he was pretty excited about getting to see them again.

Eyup. All the paperwork for getting them in has been completely halted :(

John Hurt Fact: He was cast as the chesburster victim in Alien because the cast is killed off in reverse order of their (at the time) fame, as he was the headliner and Sigourney Weaver was an unknown.

I just got a new winter coat 2 weeks ago. Welfare workers gave me a ticket to get one free, hadn't had one in years. (social welfare checks cover my rent, gas elektra and food, but clothes or holidays have been out of my financial reach for over a decade now. Don't believe the myth that everyone in Western Europe is rich)
Whaddaya think?
Yesterday I come home from the supermarket to find someone put a stanley knife to it in an effort to rip my wallet. Not that I ever keep my wallet in my coat pocket (or that my wallet would contain enough cash to be worth stealing), but I guess that thief didn't know that.

Sad, back to my old stinky coat I guess.
