So I just went over my Uber story with my wife (first chance I've had for a long talk with her since it happened).  We agree that there was obviously something illegal going on.  I assumed that it was a failed drug deal.  I frown on people's substance habits, but I frown on the drug war even more, so I wasn't planning on reporting anything.  But she thinks it sounds more like trafficking something like child pornography, and her appraisal makes sense.  That's something I'm totally willing to send police after people for, and there have been a shitload of amber alerts in Indiana recently.  So I think I'm going to report this experience to the police tomorrow, and recommend they check out this address.

Speaking of amber alerts, my sister's kid was almost abducted the other day.  The kid's father had him at a gas station.  Had just pumped gas and was inside for a brief moment.  Someone jumped in the car and drove off with it, while their kid was still inside.  He only drove a couple blocks, wrecked the car, and fled on foot.  Kid was ok.

This city is getting ridiculously crime-ridden.

...holy shit.

In other news, I'm in far too much pain to sleep. Schools have been cancelled already because of hellacious snowfall totals, which may have something to do with the searing pain in my neck and back. Damn you, barometric pressure and winter.

Said goodbye to my girlfriend, Emily, for the last time of my visit. I'm flying back today, and will be gone while she's at work. Had an amazing time with her, but now it's over :(

Fuck, I love her so much.

Hopefully I can visit again soon. But for now, I'm gonna be crying a whole lot.

Email, mail, or other things (like sending personal crafts or otherwise) were things I've found that'd continue contact and connections while away :) If in the least, it gives communication and an outlet.

I'm REALLY happy for you (even heard how you felt when you arrived at the airport there) and your time though. ^ ^

Crikey, Salmon. G'luck handling the police. There are a lot of sketchy dealings that could be going on there.

MZ, wish I could make a suggestion but I suspect the sum of medical advice that doesn't involve a hospital is "take an antiinflammatory"...

ECrown, she's always just the other side of the internet! The march of technology is in many ways wondrous. It's not as good as being with her, but you don't have to be completely separate!

E: Oh, and my own sad is that I'm steadily accruing things I need to do over the internet, none of which are inherently pressing, but I didn't exactly expect Telkom to leave me in the dark for more than two weeks. Especially given I'm negotiating a web-based job in a week, which I'm going to have to have internet for...

Didn't get the job. I thought I did decent at the job interview, considering it was my first. At least I am making efforts to look for work and am getting experience with job applications and interviews. Still, no job and no income though.

Update: my flight was canceled. Got moved to a later one, which I'm now waiting for at the airport.

I have great luck with flying.

Edit: and that flight has now been delayed by 81 minutes.

THE BEST LUCK

Wow, I'm having anxiety about this very post.  Jeez.
In a word:  Anxiety.
I met some cool older family nearby and I REALLY want to hang out with them a lot more, but I'm getting also sorts of weird notions that are hard to shake.  I'm, like, 95% sure it's just anxiety.

But I mean, there was nothing actually wrong with their computer...  Maybe it WAS all a setup, by my mom, and that would explain why they seemed nervous too, and...
Freaking heck I'm just all sorts of self-destructive.  Or I'm used to hanging out with my dad, where it really IS all Machiavellian plans.  Largely well-meaning but still.

Fact is, ruse or not, this is good and I need to take it.
Probably shoulda taken the plan-covered mental care when I had a chance, too.

...uh...  When I search "over the counter" in google, it autocompletes "anxiety meds".  Then "sleep aids".  I'm... sure it does that for everybody, right?  Not that it's... a problem...

wow these are way cheaper than seems possible.  Economy of scale, I guess.

I am reasonably technically proficient, I think, yet I really have no idea how Google would know I have anxiety.  Or sleep problems (been waking up at 4, uh...  Maybe literally for over a week, maybe 2?  I usually manage to go back to sleep.)
Unless it's been checking out my Skype (Microsoft) or Bay12 posts (different username, not tied to my Google account...).  And I use Firefox, not Chrome.

I mean... maybe I looked up psychiatrists literally a couple of times, but that was like a year ago...

Also since you were willing to mention it, I also got viagra as #3 lol

It might just be your local area that has something to do with that.

Google also has tracking machines in non-google websites, so that could also be it.

When I try it, I get those three suggestions as well. I think it's randomly guessing; it can't track me, I've never searched for any of these, and none of these would do anything useful for me.
