That's why I asked - going to 70 pounds would be genuine cause for the attitude presented, while 70 kilos would not.

-snipsnop-
It's fine. Getting into a job search is hard. Same with applying to schools. You don't need to feel bad about that. It's a challenge to wrench yourself into a state of mind where you can deal with a huge set of options, and see yourself as capable enough to handle them. I think you can do it! But it's okay to feel challenged, to wish you didn't have to do any of this.

Also, buddy, my last date was a solid decade ago, and I fucked it up so bad the girl in question didn't have a crush on me anymore afterward. So, uh, for the sake of my own ego, I'm gonna say there's no mark against you on account of your own dating history. >_______>

You're in a bad place, but you can get out of it. I wish I had something more helpful to say, but there it is. Good luck.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I hate grocery shopping. It feels like I was grocery shopping last night. Any minute that I'm not at school or work, I'm at Walmart. Every day off, any spare time I have, it's time to go to Walmart again and waste more of my life getting trampled and trying to find a place to not be in the way.

The cancer is progressing up his spine. He's being sent to an oncologist a few towns over to see if they can do anything. If not, he'll be discharged from the hospital, since there is nothing else anyone can do.

It's already clear that nothing can be done now. At this point it is just trying to prolong his life as much as possible.

Depressed.

There is no objective meaning or goal to life. So the only meaning or goals in life would be self-assigned. I can't really think of any goals that would give life "meaning" outside of just killing time. So my life is meaningless. Directionless. Pointless. Etc.

Hard to stay motivated with thoughts like this. I have homework to do for calculus and physics classes due next week. I have tests next week I haven't studied for. Why am I going to college though. To get a degree. Why get a degree. To get a job. Why get a job. To make money and have an income so I can afford to eat and live. Why live.

So yeah. Depressed.

You can find a reason.  Smell a flower, watch the sun, eat something delicious, read a good book, listen to music.  Try it.

There is no objective meaning or goal to life.
The beauty of life is that you get to create your own meaning, and no one can tell you that the meaning you assign to it is less or more valuable than anything else. Want to change the world? Work hard and you can make it happen. Want to sit around and play video games? If that's what you really want, go for it. It's your life, and anyone who doesn't like that can fuck off.

watch the sun

Not a good idea.
The sun, though like a magnificent father, is much better praised than gazed (at).

Wound up being limited to an hour of using my computer on weekends due to what is a percieved lack of social skills that stems from how deeply introverted I am.  That really didn't trigger any emotion.  What made me a combination of sad and angered is the later realization that three major projects I am working on (Arms Race - Southeast Asia, the Noble Houses of the Twelfth Bay, and the Mundane World DF Total Conversion), one I was planning to revive (an old fanfic I haven't worked on for about 6 months), and one I was planning on starting up (an RTS I was planning on making due to coming up with what I thought was a really neat idea and I thought I might be able to make money off of) are all going to burn due to the limitation of one hour.  First game (Arms Race - Indonesia) took 3 hours to make the second turn and would likely only get longer.  Second game (Noble Houses) would require me to be online fairly often in order to keep the pace and intrigue to the level that would be needed.  The mod is entering the stage where I need to do quite a bit of research into as well as the time to put it into the code.  The fanfic would take about an hour to get just the initial draft of the chapter.  The RTS would have eaten up a nice chunk of time as well.  Beforehand, I could have budgeted it so I could work on all of this, my school work, and a few sporatic things I enjoy to do.  Now every project I enjoyed working on is going to burn due to the lack of update ability reducing the interest of players to where the inertia will drive them away or my own interest slowly dieing due to distance.  Fucking hell.
