All of you, don't doubt yourselves. You know how happy it makes me to see all of you happy? It's a sense of accomplishment, achieved serenity, just a time of peace. I want to help you in any way I can, I'm no professional, but i'll wear myself thin, turn to dust just to assist you all. All of us have each other, all of us are with each other. It's just another type of family, we don't need to share blood. No matter how dark it gets, we'll go through hell to make everything right. I do what I can for forgiveness, you all have your reasons, just don't stop. You can be as independent as you wish, but you're human. You need the company of others, and it feels great to have company. You aren't alone. Even when you're gone, I'll never forget any of you.

Even when I'm gone, i'll never forget any of you.

Everyone is here for everyone.

So no matter how dark it gets, there's always another light to reach. You can always see it. Just march on through, and fight for it. Imagine a handful of people, old and young, rich and poor, clean and ragged, stalwart and crumbling. A dark expanse, everyone hanging on to everyone, pushing on to beacons of light in that void. That's us. Some of us are in different places, but if you can see this, we're together. Always another light.

Always.

I was out last night and didn't get a chance to pick beans from the garden; now there's a bunch of big stringy ones.

This, I find, is a rather singular example of what I like about both Bay12 and Humanity.

Heiterverzweiflung. Not a legit German word so much as something a friend and I made up in German class once. "Carefree despair". When life is so fucked that you can't stop laughing.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

BlackHeartKabal is a nice person and I thank him.

I recently found out that someone I know dislikes me. I happen to like them. This saddens me.

"When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a fellow turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
Whe he might have captured the victor's cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint in the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It might be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit."

And yet, I end up failing myself every time. At some point, some shaky legs have to cave in and give up, right? I can't, but I already am and I can't help it. I have to complete some papers before February 29. And there's a lot of them papers, none of which I have the passion to write about anymore. It's sick, disgusting and tiring, but I have to trudge through.

I can't give up but I already am and I can't help it.

"This too shall pass."

Have a short break from it. Try not to think about it for a bit, and maybe you'll find the motivation, if not the hope and passion to continue working on it. You can give up. You can give in. But afterwards when you are rested, when your failures both real and imagined seem more distant, you can still pick yourself up, dust yourself off and continue trudging onwards.

I'd dispense platonic hugs here, but I'm pretty sure that's Fish's schtick, so please just accept this encouragement instead.
