Blind Guardian is a good band for making you feel like battle-axing. I reccommend it to your list... along with symphony X. Though while Symphony X is more Orchestral/progressive metal, Blind Guardian is pure power metal. Sorry, Power Metal.

System Of A Down is great, But I don't like them out of principle because Tankien is a

...Anyways, back on topic. Seether, if you want semi-metal. "Remedy" is their most popular song. Now that A7X is on the way out and starting to sound more and more like AFI, Seether is my next choice.

Papa Roach is good, if you're okay with the almost-rapping.

CKY (Camp Kill Yourself) is probably my favorite metal band. I think that their best song is <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgQ7qOCDFYQ>96 Quite Bitter Beings[/url]. Just don't be put off by the crappy music video, I actually recommend minimizing the window first time you listen to it so you don't hate it because of the video.

Slipknot is, well... not exactly serious. The one thing I like about that band is Joey Jordison (the drummer,) and I don't even know if he's still in the band. They're almost like GWAR, except less amusing.

Insomnium if you want melodic death metal.

Hardcore metal fans like Slayer, but they're just too... satanic for my tastes.

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY has some metal elements thrown in there with some good ol' "outlaw" style country-esque type... thing. Zakk Wylde is an AMAZING guitarist.

Except maybe the Slipknot suggestion, but I haven't listened to them yet so I can't accurately pass judgment.

Definitely putting Turisas on the list. Insomnium also. I used to listen to Papa Roach, but I got a little bored some time back.

Hmmm, what about Savatage, which Maggarg mentioned?
