A query concerning the health of a defender of the fortress.
« on: October 11, 2009, 10:26:23 am »

Essentially, spectators, I have a military champion - multilegendary of course - running around with a mangled arm. He doesn't seem to even notice. This means he is not resting.

Will his arm heal without rest? That is the question.

Many thanks, Humans.

He severs limbs with his copper short sword. I think he had it broken by a weaponmaster and then mangled by another one.

He's a damn good swordsdwarf. My best one has 51 kills atm.

He'll heal, but much slower than a resting dwarf. However, each season, there is a chance for him to heal a limb depending on how tough he is and other, unknown variables.

So his arm will randomly and perfectly patch up?

Dang, gotta love them dwarves!

Thank you, esteemed Razoric480. He needs to be in tip top shape if he's ever going to take on several elite goblins at once (unlikely but possible)

Well, it'll go from red to yellow. Once it makes that step though, it'll recover way faster.

It gets better.  If you get their toughness high enough, then severed limbs will grow into new legendary dwarves!  ...the chances are lower, of course - similar to the probability of a cosmic ray striking your RAM and flipping multiple chosen bits.

Didn't you realise Wolverine was secretly a dwarf? He was thrown out for being too tall.
