How do i play as goblins.... please....

I know, I know, you've seen this in so many other places. Well i went to those places. They didn't help much.

My problem: I did as it said, I added [CIV_CONTROLLABLE] to goblins in their little area in the objects folder. I looked real hard to find [civ_controllable] on dwarfs, with no return. Then I went into the game and started a new world and built a settlement just as a would normaly (since I couldn't find any complications involving this) With a dwarf fortress. I've been trying forever and i realy want to make a fortress of a different race, its a very strange urge. pleeaaase help.

Sure you modded the entity_default.txt?
Dorfs are [ENTITY:MOUNTAIN] gobbos [ENTITY:EVIL].

You edited the wrong raws. You don't edit the creature_standard one. You edit the entity_default one. The creature_standard one has nothing to do with playability. In fact, adding the tag to gobbos there might have unintended effects.

Ermm, sorry I'm new to this "modding" thing. I want to get it down pat and all and uhh, how do i get to that one?

The entity_default.txt is in the same folder as the creature_standard.txt.

Thnx everyone for their helpz, my goblin fortress has started and is running properly other than the fact i can't farm... but i'll jsut go into another industry.
