Really though, in order to believe in Valhalla you'd kind of have to be a soldier wouldn't you?  Everyone who doesn't die in glorious battle gets sent to Hel.  I suppose we ought to shut up and let Nordic answer.
a point you do have indeed.i'm flexible when it comes to those things.i don't full on believe in the old ways, and expecting to die a glorious battle death is asking a lot these days.i guess i believe in the parts i can accomplish in this modern age.

Yeah... but do you honestly believe that you'll be at the same physical peak of people who have spent the last thousand years perfecting the artform of brawling... in the afterlife?

Don't think he said anything to indicate he did.

Well, they didn't have thousands of years of training when they first got in.  Besides, people who are physically fit these days tend to be stronger than those from a couple hundred to a thousand years ago (we have a better understanding of how one gains strength)

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

But they've been doing it for AGES. And they probably died a lot when they first started too!

nope.like i said, i'm mostly an atheist.i simply believe in the idea of a place that only those who worked for it go.and my nordic ancestors happen to have the best of the best.i got one of those dna tests to verify my ancestry lately,(as in 2 year's ago) and have just recently adopted odinism as a religion.i'm figuring it out as i go along,so to speak.my lifestyle has'nt really changed,i always wanted to go in the military, and bodybuilding is a hobby of mine i've had for awhile.

Ok. I will accept that.

See how good it is when people accept others religions! (note: see petition to toady one.)

Hellenic Pagan.

I believe in the Greek Pantheon, Zeus, Hera and the whole host of Gods. + The Elysion fields, Tartarus and the Asphodel Meadows.

Just kinda fell into it, I like history in the time period when they were a Major Relgion, plus the stories are better.  :P

Do you actually believe in them as a religion or do you just like the stories?

Huh... that's cool. Very cool. I would believe in them, but... I considered the fact that it wasn't mainstream enough. So... I... became a... steevist? Ok. contradiction.

I used to not believe in them because no one else did, then for the same reason I don't believe in other religions.  Now that I've actually studied Greek philosophers a bit I have another reason.  They make some pretty solid arguments, which is a good thing considering that they're the basis of modern science.

I have to ask Rilder...  How does one fall into and for that matter practice Ancient Greekism?

Do you agree with the execution of Socrates and the attempted execution of Aristotle?
