I'll explain, but it's a bit stoner-riffic..

I like to think of love and goodness as a truth, but there's nothing factual about them. Rather I extrapolate their existence from certain facts - that people will go out of their way to do something good with no real benefit. So in this case "truth" and "fact" are distinct - one proceeds from the other, rather than being synonymous.

Most other times though they are synonymous.

If by "Stoner-riffic" you mean "Similar to Socrates" then yes, I totally agree.  That doesn't really answer my question though.
Most of it can be explained by the prime genetic imperative, or whatever, but yeah. I like to believe in that stuff too.

Truth, Accuracy, and fact.

It it's accurate, it's liable to bias. The "accurate" account of events, by, say, the news, is still biased towards whatevertheshit.

Truth is what is a noticeable solid evidence in the world. Love happens, Hate happens. It is a truth of the world.

Fact, usually number or quote, is something that is irrefutable and unchangeable. two, will always be two. While love may have hundreds of different meanings to different people, Fact is hard and solid.

Woah.

EXPLAIN COOKIES WITH THE PRIME GENETIC IMPERATIVE

But yeah. I like to be idealistic, rather than cynical. Cynicism and Idealism can both be unhealthy, but I'd rather be unhealthy and happy.

Sigh... however true it is, it just doesn't feet the teenage market.

I should turn apathetic christian, and watch all of my friends have heart attacks.

EXPLAIN COOKIES WITH THE PRIME GENETIC IMPERATIVE
WOMEN LIKE COOKIES AND IF I PRETEND TO LIKE COOKIES MAYBE I CAN GET IN THEIR PANTS.

That's a typical non-thought process for doods.

Since when did idealism lead to happiness?  Have you seen gaming these days?

I have to ask Rilder...  How does one fall into and for that matter practice Ancient Greekism?

Do you agree with the execution of Socrates and the attempted execution of Aristotle?

1: Dunno how I got into it, just did, not really a hardcore believer either.

2: Nope.

The sad part is I think that's actually close to reality. :D

It leads to crushing disappointment. But the intervening time is happy.

Also: man, the Socrates thing was a grade-A fuckarow. I can't help but think that we lost a lot when that happened.

Do you at least dislike them and most other philosophers for their contributions to the downfall of your religion?

Actually, I'm really curious how you know what to do.  How do you know the will of the gods?

Er.  You mean his execution?  You know it makes me wonder how much Greek philosophy Jesus studied.

Yeah, the execution.

I actually wonder about Jesus. See, we Christians have this tendency to tout him as having brought a new religious way of thought, but a lot of prophets had the same general idea - he just expounded on it. (especially Amos and his ideas about social justice and helping the poor).
