It might exist outside of that one ocean. Traps in dungeons, for example.

A pit trap that lands in water? No DF player would do that, not even after the 2010 release.

Too many bad memories of... the ubercarp. Neruz probably doesn't want to turn you into an ubercarp.

In minorly related news, my miner and one of my stoneworkers were eaten by a dimetrodon, which apparently swims, has antennae, undulates, ,uses a poison stinger, and has hair made of chocolate. The engraver basically imploded; the miner managed to break the fish-scorpion-eel-bug's toe before he turned into a mural on the cave walls.

Thankfully I managed to get that sealed up before the whole fort bit it.

Heretic, he is Nerzu!

NERZU! NERZU! NERZU!

Also, why give an item that would be worthless? It's going to some in handy at some point.

I suspect you've never tried doing many illegal things yet in your game. The second the CCS knows you're "active", they'll come down on you like the hammer of God.

Oh noez, he's going to have us fight the Great Snake from Beyond... everyone bring antitoxins, and Scrolls/Potions of Remove Corruption.

And nobody eat the corpse. This one doesn't give you any stat bonuses when you eat it; just 10% corruption or so.

I wonder what the mechanics are for absorbing strength from the flesh of your fallen foes. You know someone out there has written up rules for it...
Actually, come to think of it, the basic MM from 3rd edition had the barghest, so...

I am thinking that they are just ball bearings, which is not to say that they aren't useful, just not particularly useful from an adventuring perspective...
Of course, that doesn't mean that they can't be useful reagents for cosmetic surgery on Mr. Warforged...

We went into the attic, found the previously mentioned magic items, some potions, then ran around breaking shit and reading books. While that was going on, Nerzu was building a wizard for Tehstefan. Oh, and everyone got 100 xp for exploring the whole tower, putting us up to 495.

And I am now the proud owner of two tennis ball sized metal balls and a metal basketball. Apparently they're bombs now.

I'll have to look into that.

So, wait, you got magic metal balls as well?

Now, I missed that, which is why I suggested rolling d20s for the hide armour, to make it fair. But now this means you got 4 magic items.

They weren't magic when I picked them up. They were just sitting next to some papers I couldn't read, and metal balls make nice throwing weapons.

Unless teh stefan has a wizard too now?
