I think that I want to do it regardless, but it would be nice if it only killed me when I was trying to kill others...

Based on the wording, i'd say the Merciful would render all the damage nonlethal.

Although a Viscious Merciful Weapon does cause some small amount of brain-hurt.

Fanatical mercy? In order to attain ultimate mercy you must be merciful with the ultimate damage?

Meh, I try to ignore the names if I can, it tends to limit freedom a bit too much. I don't really feel that rangers need to range, or rogue's need to go rogue. It is difficult to focus you magical study on the whole of magic, but there is no pressing reason not to take spell focus in every school. And an arrow deflecting and catching shield is not a grievous as it sounds if you twist your brain enough to see it straight...

Arrow Deflecting\Catching actually makes plenty of sense. But the concept of something being both Vicious and Merciful at the same time is a bit of a stretch :P

It catches the arrows so that they fly away more easily?

You deflect it straight up, and catch it when it falls harmlessly towards you again.

Also, if a Vicious Merciful weapon is hurting your brain, just interpret "vicious" to mean "painful" and "merciful" to mean "does not kill".

Sadistic pleasure at its finest.

Hmm. Mythweavers seems to be down. I'm going to have some trouble levelling up, if it happens today.

(I think there was something about them doing scheduled maintenance a couple days ago, that might be it...)

Nope, apparently Break Enchantment DOES work on supernatural petrification.

Mostly because that's the only way that clerics have of removing petrification.

Tell me about it, Eosri could totally kick Shneeka's ass.

And next level, he gets free armor-piercing sneak attacks, I can't wait for that  ;D

There's a monkey in my pocket
And the server's rising high
These pants, they keep on screaming

Non-sequiter poetry at its finest.

(oddly, firefox doesn't think sequiter is a word. Or that firefox is a word.)
