Final thing, what's the limit on point buy; 15, 22, 25, 28, or 32?

Read first post. Silly me.

A phrasing in the discript for Pallys is a bit vauge.
Quote
A paladin who gains a level in any class other than paladin may never again raise her paladin level, though she retains all her paladin abilities.

Does it mean that if I start as a Monk and then go Pally, and only level that class, this doesn't apply to me?

Yes, but you'll never be able to raise your Monk level or take a level in any other class unless it's a paladin prestige class or something.

Stuff Paladins then, Cleric me up baby.
Any restrictions on race?

Other than, you know, that common sense crap.

I do not recognise this 'common sense' of which you speak.

Pick a race; you can play it. I can even make one up for you if you have a concept you'd like to match but no race that fits it.

If you want to play a monster race that lacks a PC writeup, i can do one of those too.

Custom races? Sign me up.

As a monk/cleric, maybe something from an upper plane with a dex or wis bonus and some minor divine powers would suit?

Buomman!

Aasimar would probably be more in line with that though.

Aasimar are, well, twats plus level adjustment.

I know, LG DROW MONK-CLERIC. Which is actually a terrible idea. What is it, an ECL of +3?

Damnit, I can't think straight. I'll fire up NWN2 and test it out. I imagine it'll be OP at the start and get shit as the game goes along. Maybe Wizard-Monk?

Wow. Racial Spell: Darkness + 18dex (with buffs from cleric) + 4 Monk Levels = Unhittable, with 2 +7 attacks per round. Won a fist fight with four regular Elementals. A pure Drow Monk may kick all kinds of arse.

If you want to use a race with Level Adjustment, talk to me.
I want a blue Slaad barbarian/kensei!
Hmmmm, Outsiders are kind of immortal extensions of their planes, but slaadi age and reproduce and stuff... (And don't give me any of that Lawful Evil "their bound that way" garbage!)

How are you unhittable and how are you hitting anything in darkness?

Concelment (which I get from Darkness) gives a decent miss chance.
Monk levels give bonuses to AC, as does the massive Dexterity.
So, basically unhittable.

Being Drow lets me see though magical darkness, meaning no-one gets concealment from me.

Ack, must... resist... urge... to make a new character!

I like Aveldineir to the point I don't want to just abandon him (that, and I imagine the DM must be getting sick of things like this by now) but the urge to make a kobold wizard/Minotaur barbarian/gelatinous cube rogue are driving me insane!
